I'd contact a Makita dealer. I've had this saw for years without a single misfire on the trigger. Could be heat related, but that's a stretch. Here's their contact information:
put the drill in reverse hold the chuck housing ( the black plastic piece around the bit) and squeeze the trigger. Hold it tight and it will pop loose, pull out the bit reinsert new one. Put the drill in forward squeeze the housing tigh and pull the trigger it will tighten right up.
I have a little bad news for you. Makita doesn't furnish their wiring schematics online and I checked a couple other sites and nothing but you can call 1-800-4625482 that is their free technical support line and they can get you one.
