I am sure this is the right pattern to open tablet. I have not used the tablet for quite some time, the date is back to Jan. how do I get to use my tablet ?

You should be able to go to new user mode and enter a new user pattern....Check your owners manual.....

My little brother set a password on my tablet and then forgot it .... is there anyone out... there is no 'forgotten password' and i have tried resetting it so i have to a standstill... alright thanks.... how do i do a complete restore ? How Do I "Factory Reset" My Tablet?

Go into your settings, system date & time. Ensure the Automatic date and time is checked, along with Automatic time zone.

You can also make adjustments to time and date formats.

Back out, and restart your tablet to see if this works.

Date\time is a software function. Check to make sure you have the latest software version uploaded.

As you probably realise you are entering the wrong pattern! You will have to wipe everything with a factory reset back to when new!

If you set a pass code (or pattern) that you cannot remember, please enter the wrong password (10-20 times) until you are prompted to sign in via your google account. Please note, this will only work if you have already setup your google account on the tablet. If you have not set up a Google (or Gmail) account on the tablet, you will have to perform a firmware install, which will revert the tablet back to factory settings.

You do not say what type of password was set and if you have forgotten it or just want to reset from a known password..
If you just want to change your gmail login password
- Go to google.com/accounts on the tablet browser
- Sign in
- "Change Password"
- Go back to the Home Screen on the tablet
- Open the GMail app, clicked on Menu, then Refresh -- you will get a sync error
- Wait for a notification to re-enter your password (a triangle with an exclamation point in the tablet notificaiton bar and/or something in the gmail screen)
- Enter the new password

This simple solution sometimes works:
Turn it off.
Turn back on.
When you get the warning triangle in the notification bar, open the notification.
You will then get a login screen.
Input your new password.

Pattern Lock- Incorrectly enter pattern 5 times (4 or more points each time) . Pop up message will appear Click Next and you will be prompted for goole a/c details or security for pattern lock.
tap forgotten pattern and on next screen enter goole account details. Then next screen allows you to choose a new screen lock option.

The only other solution is a hard reset which is only as a last resort. You need to access Androids Recovery mode. Check your manual. Most devices it is power off then power up holding volume + and power buttons.
Once in this mode use power down button to highlight "wipedata/factory reset option, then use power button to select it.
Vol - button to to scroll and select yes delete all user data option with power button. When device reset select option to reboot now and the device will turn on unlocked but you will have lost your personal data.

Face unlock - you were asked to provide a pattern or PIN backup when you set it. Just bypass and enter PIN or pattern.

If it's an android device...
1. Enter wrong pattern 5 times and wait for 30 seconds.
2. Select "Forgot pattern" and enter your email account username and password.
3. Make sure you use the same account that was used to activate the device and double check the password by logging in to that email account in a browser.
4. If you don't have access to the original email account, you will need to do a hard reset and loose your settings and apps on the devcice. The data on the memory card will not be wiped though.
Note: if you can't remember your email password, you will have to visit the email service support page to get it reset.

It is quite normal that after providing an unlock pattern to your tablet or mobile, you forget the pattern and attempt unlocking the device multiple times. In this process, many times your device gets permanently locked, and you no longer get any access to it. This is likely your CMOS battery dying on you and resetting your computer's date. Hitting F2 I belive it is will allow you to access your bios and on the second page you can see your date. It will likely be Jan 1st, 1988. Use your number keys to adjust the date and use your tab key to move between month, day, year, ect.

This is a temporary fix however and you will have to do this often until you have your CMOS battery replaced. I have a Travelmate that has the same problem.
