There is no water making it to the ice maker and the ice maker itself seems to be cycling and running fine. I have heard that the ice maker line could be frozen as well but I cannot locate that specific water line (nor the valve or solenoid) to check them. I have pulled the ice maker but nothing to be seen behind the unit but a small rubber tip dropping out of the ceiling into the icemaker that appears to be clear. Now I'm stuck!
There is another water inlet valve that controls the flow for the water dispenser and ice maker independently inside the refrigerator compartment by the cold water reservoir. Check both siloinds for continuity.

Sorry, I could net get the link feature on this site to work on my phone.
Since there is water that flows to the water dispenser, the water valve is working. Now, there's a spout that water flows from to the icemaker tray. Look for it. It's located on the back wall inside the freezer and maybe behind the icemaker tray. Check and see if it's frozen. If so, defrost your freezer by turning the temperature gauge to off position. Wait a while until it's defrosted, then turn it back on.
Next, make sure that the metal wire is in down position.
If that doesn't work, your icemaker maybe defective and needs replacement.
The little rubber tip that fills the ice maker tray is not frozen, is it possible that it is frozen up inside deeper than I can see? Or another valve or solenoid up inside deeper than I can see? I am not sure how the ice make could be bad if I can see it operate and since there is no water showing up to make ice in the first place. I can pour water into the trays and it makes ice too. What is the metal wire? Do you mean the arm that moves up and down as it cycles?

I don't think the water line from the water valve is frozen since the back of the fridge is warm, which precludes the water from freezing. Most likely the timer is defective and needs to be replaced. When the timer is ready to make ice, it sends signal to the water valve to send water to the ice maker. Of course, if the ice water valve where the water line is defective, too, it will not send water to the ice maker. The water valve is locatd in the bottom at the back of the fridge. Check both the water valve and the timer. What I'm telling you is based on my experience with my whirlpool side by side ref.
