My android 4.4 kitkat tablet freezes when apps are updating. Is there aything I can do?

Freezes when downloading updates for apps.Have tried removind apps that are beeing automatically updated but in the long term this does not cure the problem. After freezing the tablet reeboots from scratch. It will then respond normally until the download icon appears and then it freezes again.Once downloading has finished everything returns to normal.Perhaps I should not shut down computer and let it dowload when required. Any help would be interesting.Yours Geoff

In your settings for the google app store you can change it to require you to authorize any app being updated. that way you can skip the ones you don't care about, or all of them, to avoid them problem.

SOURCE: just bought a disgo 8000 android tablet but it freezes every time I try to use the gallery

Hi there,

We are sorry to hear that the device is freezing and not working as expected.

Please try the following which may help to resolve the issue.

1) Ensure that the Video/Image files you are trying to view are compatible with the tablet. Compatible files are located on the packaging and in the User Manual. You can also locate this information on the website, mydisgo.com

2) If you have not already done so, we would advise that you update the device to version 2.3. The update procedure can be found at the following page; tinyurl.com/8000update

3) If the Gallery app only freezes when accessing files on the SD card (and not internal memory), please try using the alternative memory card slot or test using a different memory card.

I do hope this helps to resolve the issue.

If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at mydisgo.com/support

Thanks, mydisgo.com

Samsung tab 3. Tell me About it and what it is worth?

New, $175. Used. $70.

  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean OS, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor
  • 8 GB Flash Memory, 1 GB RAM Memory
  • Store photos, videos, music, and more with up to 64GB of memory available through a microSD slot and 50GB of free Dropbox storage
  • Camera: 3MP rear-facing, 1.3MP front-facing
You might be able to upgrade the OS to KitKat 4.4 but are unlikely to be able to update it beyond. However, whatever gains you get in performance will pale next to sudden restrictions you find on SD card access. Android Central has users up in arms about SD card issues regarding the KitKat and Samsung. If the apps you like run under JellyBean, I'd not bother to update the OS. Other may choose to root the device.

I'm trying to download sling TV on my tablet and it keeps saying its Incompatible. Its a noble dual core with android 4.1 jelly bean? Help?

The current Sling TV app requires Android 4.4 or higher. This is given in the requirements on the Google Play Store page for the app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sling&hl=en . Scroll down to the Additional Information section.

I know that the Sling site claims that the app works with Android 4.0.3 on the Devices page. However, they haven't updated the site properly. On their help site, they call for KitKat 4.4. See http://help.sling.com/articles/en_US/FAQ/How-do-I-watch-Sling-TV-on-an-Android-Device-36/?l=en_US&c=Topics%3AWST_AYD_Android .

If you are prepared to tinker with your device (rooting the device or similar activities) so that you can side-load the app, one older version of the Sling app can be found here: http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/sling-tv-l-l-c/sling/sling-4-0-5-154-3-release/sling-television-4-0-5-154-android-apk-download/ . Other versions of the Sling app are also available; check the Min system requirements below the size of the download package. However, these versions may not communicate properly to the Sling server any more.

I wish that I had better news for you. (Note: I have never tried to install an older app on my Android device.)

How do I upgrade my disgo9200 to kitkat

Android 4.4 is available on some devices out of the box. You can tell by looking at the notifications bar at the top of the screen. If you're on 4.4 then all the icons should be white. Earlier versions appear blue.
If you want to double check, head to the settings app on your phone and look for About Phone under System. Scroll down a little and you'll find the Android Version bar which lists the version currently running.

Despite being released last year, only a handful of Android handsets currently use Android 4.4, though the list is ever-growing. First, you'll need to check online to see if your device has the update. You can either do this online or on your gizmo. For the latter, head to the Settings app and find About Phone under System. From here press System Updates. Your phone will do a little searching and either find the update or tell you the software is up to date.
A huge array of handsets from major manufacturers including (but not limited to) Sony, Samsung, Google, HTC and LG already support the upgrade to Android 4.4, with more being added by the month.
3. Check the update is ready on your phone
Even if the update has been released for your make of phone/tablet, it may not have come to your individual device just yet. Usually the phone itself will notify you when the update becomes available via the notification bar at the top.
Again, you can check yourself by heading to Settings, finding About Phone and pressing System Update.
4. Time to download
If your phone is compatible, downloading the update is very, very simple. Either find the notification about the update and tap it or head to Settings, scroll down to find About Phone, press it and find System Update. Follow on the onscreen instructions and your phone will reboot itself with sparkly new.

How do you print from a Nexus 7 tablet?

What type of printer do you have? Also, if you have upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat it comes with an HP Print Service. You also may be able to find an app from your printer's manufacturer in the Google Play Store. I've added a link that will guide through the setup.
