Thanks John. I have reviewed the online user manual, but don't know how to tell if VOX is enabled.

Hi Ryan, I do not see an "on/off" display icon either. The other thing I can add is VOX takes speaking loudly to work. A whisper will never trip it. I have some hunters who wanted whisper VOX. Cannot be done on that radio. Try talking loudly and if zVOX is enabled, it will work. Do more than one word, in outr business we often say "Fooooooour" to test audio issues. Let me know.

Power level will not matter. Some headsets need to be inserted when the radio is on. Others when it is off. Also, check the radio programming to be certain VOX is enabled.

We recently purchased the Motorola MS350 radios with headsets. We plugged the headsets in and turned the power on, but are unable to communicate back and forth in handsfree mode. We can switch to PTT and...

The three things which come to mind are:
1) Is the headset the VOX headset intended for the radio model? Sometimes the rings on the plug do not match the internal points of contact if it is not the intended headset. Not all headsets are VOX capable.
2) Is the headset plugged in all the way. (You mentioned plugging in and then turning on. This is good. You must always have the radio turned off when plugging or unplugging an audio device.)
3) Try pressing the PTT on the headset cord one time before switching the dip switch to VOX. (Assuming you have a headset with the small box in the line.)

Lastly, if you continue to have difficulties, contact Motorola at the 800# provided in the user guide. They should be able to assist you.

Best regards.

Motorola talkabout MR350 headset only sends audio and can not recieve

Likely not compatible. One thing to try is to make certain the transmitting unit is turned OFF when you initially plug in the headset. Sometimes if a headset is plugged into a radio when it is already ON, the headset will appear to be in VOX (voice activated) mode and will not allow the user to receive. Also, if this headset has an inline PTT, it may not be compatible with the radio and you would need to use the PTT on the radio.

If this doesn't work, you would need to use the TalkAbout headset designed for the MR350.

I have set the two radios to match each other , problem is when I plug the headset in it will not transmit. I just bought them yesterday. Why do the transmit with the radio but not the headset mike.

1) Be certain you are plugging in the headset with the radio turned off.
2) Be certain the headset is one designed to go with the radio if purchased separately.
3) If the headset has an inline PTT, use it, not the one on the radio
4) Also, check your VOX settings, to assure it is set the way you would like, including VOX sensitivity.

Best regards.

I am having trouble programing VOX to work on motorola rdu 2020 2-way radios

Here is a link to the user guide: http://www.twowayradiosfor.com/pdf/RDX-Non-Display-manual.pdf
Instructions for setting the VOX sensitivity are on page 33.

According to the manual you program the VOX using the CPS (software). Three things which usually cause end-user problems are:
1) Failing to set the sensitivity to a number 1, 2, or 3.
2) Failing to have the radio shut off when plugging in the audio device (headset or earpiece)
3) Failing to use a VOX capable audio device. (Not all headsets and earpieces are VOX capable. Many with inline PTTs are not.)

If these items or instructions do not help, stop by your local Motorola dealer to discuss the problem.

Best regards.

Hello I just bought a Motorola 53725 SLK Headset with Swivel Boom Mic (Black) for my Motorola FV200AA 5-Mile and I have a problem to hear. They can hear me but I cant

Two things to check. Make certain you are plugging in the headset with the radio shut OFF. Also be certain the headset is plugged in all the way. You should feel a slight click when it is seated properly.

If the headset has an in-line PTT, don't alternate between it and the one on the radio. If there is no in-line PTT, use the PTT on the radio unless you have your radio set for VOX.

If using VOX mode, do not touch the PTT at all once you turn the radio on. One thing to keep in mind if using VOX, the receiver will pick up any ambient noise around you and think it is voice and keep your radio locked into transmit. Vox only works well in a somewhat quiet environment.

I've probably given you more info than needed, but wanted to cover all the bases.

How do i link up my H3 motorola bluetooth to my motorola i776

Be sure the the headset in in 'Pairing' mode.
When in pairing mode, the light should be flashing red and blue or have a steady blue.
The put most headsets in pairing mode, turn headset OFF, then hold the power button until it goes into pairing mode as discribed above.
Then you can discover it with your phone or PC. Pin (pass key) should be 0000 (4 Zeros) or try 1111, 1234, 9999

Headset problem with Uniden 1558

Determine if this is a VOX problem or a headset problem.

Turn off the VOX. Does the headset work for normal transmit and receive?

Remove the headsets. Do the radios work normally on speaker?

Plug one headset in And test with the (other) radio in speaker mode. Does it work? Now turn on VOX in this mode (yes it will work this way). Does vox work (put you mouth right on the mic)
If so swap headsets and try the other.

If one Hset works but not the other its the headset. If neither works its likely the radio ..but before you decide try the same headset experiment on the other radio. Find out which of the 4 devices the problem follows.

If you are using vox (voice activated transmit) go into the menu and make sure you don't have the VOX setting too high. You should be able to put the headset on... hit the "push to talk" button on the radio and transmit you audio. Turn the other radio on and make sure the radio is "keying" (tx with no auio) then make sure there is audio. If you don't have audio but the radio is transmitting.. you might have the wrong type of plug on your headset for the audio..... there are 2 plugs... 1 for transmit audio....1 for recieve audio. It could be the wrong type of plug for the jack in the radio. Regardless.. the way the headset works is either you push the "push to talk button" onj the radio OR you use the VOX function... with the vox function you just have to talk into the mic to transmit. This is what your headset is designed for. You will have to go into the menu and set up the radio for VOX. If you still have problems follow my directions at the top of this page ( check mic jack and stuff) I think you just have to set the radio up for VOX operation and set the VOX setting. You should be able to push the push to talk button and talk through the mic on the headset. If you don't get any audio that way there is a problem and you should check the jack and plug on the headset.
