Instructions for setting the VOX sensitivity are on page 33.
According to the manual you program the VOX using the CPS (software). Three things which usually cause end-user problems are:
1) Failing to set the sensitivity to a number 1, 2, or 3.
2) Failing to have the radio shut off when plugging in the audio device (headset or earpiece)
3) Failing to use a VOX capable audio device. (Not all headsets and earpieces are VOX capable. Many with inline PTTs are not.)
If these items or instructions do not help, stop by your local Motorola dealer to discuss the problem.
Best regards.
Thanks John. I have reviewed the online user manual, but don't know how to tell if VOX is enabled.
Hi Ryan, I do not see an "on/off" display icon either. The other thing I can add is VOX takes speaking loudly to work. A whisper will never trip it. I have some hunters who wanted whisper VOX. Cannot be done on that radio. Try talking loudly and if zVOX is enabled, it will work. Do more than one word, in outr business we often say "Fooooooour" to test audio issues. Let me know.
