SOURCE: error code 6500

Hi there,

The 6500 error code is a logic board error code. The PCI Bus error is detected by the ASCI. Sounds like it needs new logic board. but i suggest you to first of all you can try to reset your printer -

1. Turn the printer off with the Power button (if available).
2. Disconnect the data cable from the printer.
3. Unplug the printer's power cord for approximately 10 minutes, and then plug it back in.
4. Turn the printer back on. If this works you're done, if not try the next step.

1. After confirming that the printer is powered on, open the paper output tray.
2. Open the top cover and wait until the print head moves to the center.
3. Open the inner cover and check that ink tanks are properly seated.
4. Properly seated
5. Press down on each ink tank until a click is heard.
6. Close the inner cover and top cover

if reset method not works for you then you go for the new logic board replacement .............

Good Luck!!

Where is the "scanner lock switch" located on a Canon Pixma MP980 printer? I cannot seem to locate the switch "under the hood" so I need assistance.

The scanner lock on the MP980 is on left hand side of the scanner unit. It's closer to the hinge of the document cover and almost centered between the scanner glass and the edge of the printer. If you lifted the entire scanner unit, you won't see the switch. You should be able to push the switch towards the open lock symbol with your finger or thumb. The Getting Started guide has a pretty good picture of where the switch is in Step One. The guide is available on the product page, http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_mp_series/pixma_mp980#BrochuresAndManuals , in the Brochures & Manuals section. The current link to the Getting Started Guide is http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/2/0300001552/01/MP980_GS_EN-US_V3.pdf . After moving the switch, turn off the all-in-one. Then unplug the power cord to clear the error message from the printer's memory. After a few minutes, plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.

If the error persists and the scanner is unlocked, the scanner mechanism may be damaged. If that's the case, your MP980 needs service. If the unit is under warranty, contact Canon. (If it isn't under warranty, you'll need to decide if the unit is worth the shipping and handling fees and the minimum $50 or so charge just to determine the problem at a service center. (That fee will be applied to the cost of fixing the printer, if you decide to have the technician continue to work on the unit.)

I hope this helps.

Will a flow switch stop the tub of any operation

Is the board getting power, is the control lighting up?
Do you see any error codes on the top side control?
Improper flow will give you an error code, caused by flow issues or a faulty flow switch. Make sure all gate valves are open and the water can flow freely.
If not then check your Hi Limit sensor. This is the overheat safety sensor if it fails the tub will not function at all.

I have a designjet 800ps 42" and send me the 79:04 error code, after this happen i change the belt and all the printheads, but it still send me the same error, it said Error Code:79:04 ...

Who told you to change the belt? 79:04 is a Firmware error.
Switch the Printer Off and wait a few minutes. Switch the Printer On again and check if the Error Code has disappeared. If the Error Code reappears, check for a new Firmware release. If the new Firmware release does not solve the problem, or if new Firmware release was not available, then contact the HP Response Center supplying the following information: - Model and Serial Number of the Printer. - Firmware release of the Printer
- The complete Error Code information, including the linefeed where the error occurred

I am having a problem with my printer. When I turn it on the copy light is on and the feed switch light and the alarm light and it says in the screen release the scanner lock switch and turn the power off...

Issue: ERROR LCD: Release the scanner lock switch and turn the power off and back on.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Solution: Unlock the scanner lock switch

The scanner must be unlocked before turning the unit on.

Turn off the power.

Lift the document cover.

The scanner lock switch is on the left hand side of the underside of the document cover.

Slide the scanner lock switch to the release mark (an open padlock icon).

Lock the switch before transporting.

Close the document cover.

Turn the machine on.

If machine still is not working repeat the power off / on cycle waiting 5 seconds in between.
