Why do I keep being asked to re-enter a password for Yahoo! on my 5c?

The correct password is entered in Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Accounts - Yahoo!>Account>Password> and confirms as correct. But quite frequently on start up I am asked once again?

To set up a Yahoo! Mail account for sending and receiving emails in iPhone Mail:

Tap Settings on the iPhone Home screen.
Go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap Add Account... under Accounts.
Choose Yahoo!.
Tap your name under Name.
Type your full Yahoo! Mail address under Address.
Enter your Yahoo! Mail password under Password.
Tap Next.
Make sure Mail is ON.
Tap Save.
Press the Home button.

1. Go to "Settings" 2. Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" 3. Select "Add Account...." 4. Select "Yahoo! Mail" 5. Type for NAME (your user name), Address (full Yahoo email address), Password (your password), Description (do not type your yahoo email address, choose something different, like "My Yahoo Account")
The problem most likely is in the Description ... if you type your email address here, it may give the error that the server cannot connect. I changed mine to "My Account" and the server connected.

Try this

Go settings, mail contacts calenders and then select the account you want to configure at the top. Then scroll down to outgoing mail server and tap SMTP. Tap primary server turn on and enter hostname = smtp.live.com, user name is your email address, password as per your account, ssl to ON, port 587.

There's not much I can add. I have a Yahoo! account I do not use much. I also have had issues because of this. I mainly use Google and do not have any issues getting that mail via my 5C. I even use Chrome as browser sometimes, but find most iPhones seem to prefer the native Safari.
Initially try: Settings > Mail,Contacts,Calendars > right chevron on Yahoo! > right chevron on Account = make sure your password is showing here or reenter > Done (if you do not enter the correct password here, you should get a caution message).
I only allow Mail. CalDAV would be a calendar sync problem. Turn it off if you do not use it. ...that should do it.

Can not get emails on my ipad since new email up date

Go to your iPad settings
scroll down and choose Mail, Contacts, Calendars,
in Accounts you should see Yahoo in the list.

If not there add it by choosing Add Account
make sure you have your Yahoo user name with @yahoo.com on the end of it entered correctly.
Make sure your Yahoo password is entered correctly.
Check this by clicking on Account next to your yahoo email address
The next screen will let you look at your name/password,
Make sure under Outgoing Mail Server, it has SMTP
Yahoo! SMTP server.
Make sure the setting for MAIL is turned on.

Be sure to click DONE after making changes.

Why will google not send my emails from gmail?

Check that your device is connected to the Internet by opening Safari and loading a webpage, such as google.com. If you cannot connect to the Internet, try the steps in this article.
If you have other email accounts on the device, check if those accounts can send and receive email.
If the issue is isolated only to the affected Gmail account, visit this website:https://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha.
Complete the form to unlock the account.
If the issue persists, follow this Google support article.
Once the account has been unlocked, or the correct password entered, check that the issue is resolved. If not, remove the affected Gmail account from the device and add it to the device again: Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars > Add Account > Gmail.

When i click on mail only box that appears is trash dont know where new mailbox has gone?

Try deleting your account and then adding it again.
You can do this by click on Settings from your homescreen, and then selecting Mail, Contacts, Calendars. From there, select the account with the issue, and then press Delete Account. This should take you back to the Mail, Contacts, Calendars menu, where you can add the account again. Doing this will not delete any of the messages from your account.

Hi,

Did you sync your mail info onto your phone or enter it yourself? If synced try to enter it yourself, Ive posted the steps for it below

Ive posted some steps below for you to try and they should help!! If not best bets is to setup a a free GMail, Yahoo, or AOL account and forward your mail to that account.

Hope this does help

1 - In Settings, turn on other SMTP servers

Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and under Accounts, tap the account from which you're trying to send mail:
Scroll down to where it says Outgoing Mail Server and tap the box where it says SMTP:
Scroll down to where it says AT&T SMTP Server, and tap it turn it on.

Or, turn on all other SMTP Servers.

2 - Add your email account on iPhone instead of syncing your mail settings from your computer

Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars and under accounts, tap Add Account.
Follow the instructions. When you enter your email address, iPhone will look up your service provider's settings for you.If the iPhone cant find the settings then follow this link - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1277 - to a sheet that will give you what you need to ask your service provider to setup your email correctly.

3 - Turn iPhone off and then on by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

To turn iPhone on press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.

4 - In Settings, turn off Wi-Fi to only use the Cellular Data network

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn off Wi-Fi.
From the Home screen tap Mail.

I'm trying to set up outlook and it won't accept my yahoo email password

Open Outlook Express.
From the tool bar, Click Tools > Accounts.
The Internet Accounts pop-up window will appear, with the Mail tab in the foreground.
Click Add, select Mail.
The Internet Connection Wizard pop-up window is now displayed.
Key in your name and click Next.
Enter the full Yahoo address.
Click Next. (For example, you should enter "[email protected]")
For E-mail Server Names, select POP3 as your option from the drop down. Type "localhost" for both Incoming (POP3) and Outgoing mail (SMTP) servers.
Click Next.
For Internet Mail Logon window, type your Yahoo! Mail ID and password:
- Type just the the yahoo ID (for example, if your yahoo mail ID is [email protected], you need to type Username1 as your user ID)
- Password is your Yahoo! Mail password. (Ensure you are entering the correct password)
If you do not wish to type in your password every time you check your mail, tick the Remember password box.
Click Next.
Click Finish.
Now in the Internet Accounts window, click on the new account named localhost and click Properties.
Localhost properties windows will pop up.
Select Servers tab and in the bottom tick the checkbox My server requires authentication.
Click Settings.
In the Outgoing Mail Server window, check the Log on using button and enter your Yahoo! Mail address as the Account name and your Yahoo! Mail password as the password.
Click OK.
Next select the Advanced tab and increase the Server Timeout to Long (5 minutes).
Click OK and close.
Now your configuration settings are ended and you should be able to access your free Yahoo! Mail account in Outlook Express.
