Re-word your question please. No internal lint filter. If you mean it turns but does not heat then the safety switch burned out and no longer allows the heat strips to operate. This problem is generally caused by a clogged or nearly clogged exhaust hose. Replacing the switch can be tricky on some models but some can be done by removing the front panel others by removing panel and belt and drum. That's when you call an expert.

Why frigidaire dyer model fex831cso not heating up?

Good Morning Friend,

I understand the dryer is not heating up on your Frigidaire laundry center, model# FEX831CS0. First, there are two house fuses that the dryer is plugged into. Make sure that both are good and the breaker has not been tripped. If one of the fuses is blown, this can cause your dryer to not heat. Secondly, make sure that the lint filter, lint trap area, ducting leading outside, and the outside exhaust duct are free of lint. This can cause your dryer to not dry, due to lack of ventilation. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Dyer will not heat

Sounds like an open heating element issue. If you have two sensors for internal temps, the chances of both going bad at same time are remote.
Locate the element wiring and disconnect from circuit and do a simple continuity test. Chances are that it is burnt out or open.

Dryer is turning but not getting hot

what's the brand name of the dryer and send the model number,if it's gas does the ignitor glow orange but no flame, also if it's gas when you start it you should hear a click,if you don't most likely the dryer is clogged with lint or the vent line is blocked with lint and the high heat popped the thermal fuse, but let me know what you have

Warning signal "linter filter" comes on and dryer

You don't have very much information here to give you a better diagnosis, like the model or the error code, but I'll take a shot at it. If you're thinking that the flashing list filter light is the error code you can relax. The lint filter light ALWAYS flashes at the end of a cycle or before you hit the start button to begin a cycle. This is just a reminder to check the filter.
If your dyer is displaying an E:01 code this indicates blockage in the venting system. Do the simple thing 1st. wash your lint filter with some dish soap and running water, lightly scrubbing it with your finger tips. After rinsing clean pat the filter dry and re install it in the dryer. While you have the filter out look down in the filter holder area and see if you have lint built up there. They make brushes for cleaning this area or you can use a vacuum cleaner attachment to reach in there and **** out the lint.
If you still have an E:01 error after doing all this you may need to have your house vent pipe cleaned. But before you do this check your vent hood where the dyer vent exhausts out of the house. If it's obstructed you found your problem

Makes the clothes smell burnt or like a machine smell

your problem is most likely lint build up around the heating element to clean it the element and heat gard need to be removed. or it could be a slipping belt. last it could be your motor burning out though the first diagnosis is the most common to avoid this fault in the future it imperitive that the lint filter be cleaned of all lint after every single dry cycle as this is the most common reason for house fire regarding dyers as well

hope this helps

My dyer heats and tumbles, but doesn't dry

I'd check first for clogged vent hose or clogged lint filter or clogged vent flap on wall (outside).

If that's not a problem, it may be a faulty thermostat. Heating element is probably okay if it heats some of the time.

More info, let me know.

Lint Filter

hi there,

i can understand your frustration. i have reviewed the information that i have from Bosch and they indicate that the lint filter indicator light should only come on as a reminder but should not shut off the dryer.

here is my recommendation and also a question:

the dryer is shutting off due to the fact that it's overheating. it's a safety precaution from the manufacturer and it's built in to prevent the lint collected in the lint filter, since it's highly flammable.

check the venting in the back or side, wherever it was installed.
the vent tube is often the cause for the dyer to stop functioning.
if that turns out to be okay, the dyer is equiped with a sensor on the heater. it is possible that it's opening due to the heat generated by the dryer that has nowhere to go.

does the display show any error messages?

can you tell me what they are?

thanks again
