Salt - spread over pool - sweep in
Acid - mix in bucket (adding Acid to water!!) then spread over top of pool
Bi-Carb - mix in bucket then spread over top of pool
Pool Clarifier - mix in bucket then spread over top of pool.

For amounts - ask your pool guy (or go to pool shop for free testing and they will tell you amounts)

Need to know what kind of chemicals and chlorine tablets or what to add to the Krystal Clear Model 635 Filter Pump and where do they go. Manuel only talks about changing filter.

The chemicals are added to the pool or spa, not to the pump or filter. Get some basic knowledge on pool water treatment either by reading or going to a local pool / spa shop.

When I worked at a municipal pool, we used Chlorine Gas in 4 foot steel bottles. It was evil stuff. You need test equipment so you don't over dose the water.

I have an Intex Ultra Frame 24'x52" pool. We are installing the saltwater filtration system today. How much salt will be need to use and are there any other chemicals we should use for the initial setup?

I HAVE THE SAME POOL FOR YOUR FIRST START UP ADD 310 OF POOL SALT. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A INTEX SALTWATER CHLORINATOR I WOULD SUGGEST GETTING ONE. IT WILL GIVE YOU READINGS ON LOW SALT, HIGH SALT, AND ALSO HAS A BOOST FOR COPPER IONIZATION, WHICH KILLS ALGEA AND BACTERIA. MIX YOUR SALT AROUND THE POOL AND LET THE PUMP CIRCULATE IT. GET A TEST KIT TO CHECK YOUR SALT LEVEL. IT SHOULD BE AT .OO3 OR 3 PPM. TO DO A GOOD JOB OF KEEPING YOUR WATER CIRCULATED YOU MAY NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR PUMP FROM THE 2500 GPM TO THE 4000 GPM PUMP. THE INITIAL SALT YOU ADD SHOULD GET YOU IN THE BALL PARK. AFTER CIRCULATING AND SWIMMING A FEW TIMES CHECK THE LEVEL AND IF TO HIGH LET OUT WATER AND ADD FRESH, IF TO LOW ADD MORE SALT. ONCE SET YOU SHOULD BE GOOD TO GO AND ENJOY FOR THE SEASON. HOWEVER I RECCOMEND CHECKING YOUR POOL LEVELS WEEKLY. HOPE THIS HELPS.

I am setting up my pool and it is 15 x 36.intex easy pool. Do I need to put any shock treatment or chemicals in the water. I heard you can pour in bleach?

yes i put pure bleach in my pool....I only use one bag of shock it about every month or so and i use 1 and half gallons of water each week. U can about tell when u will need to add it..when the water starts getting cloudy. My pool is a 20 round...8,800 gallons, so if u have a smaller pool for instance a 15 round.....5,000 gallons, i would only put maybe 3/4 of a gallon and a smaller pool about half a gallon of bleach per week.

Now how to put the bleach in the pool is what u need to focus on. The way i do it is where the water is returned to your pool i open the bleach and make sure u r wearing old clothing because i didnt once and i had bleach spots on my shirt due to the water splashing back up through the return. Well just pour slowly where the water comes back in the pool.....this is to prevent the liner from bleaching. So i suggest that u do it as slow as u can...its a lil but tidias when u pour it in compared to just dumping a bag of but its well worth the money u save. Pouring it over the water that returns to ur pool is to make sure it doesnt hit the liner and bleach it.....the water from the return will mix in with what u are pouring so that wont happen.....It will save alot of money...i dont use any other thing in my pool but bleach and shock it like i said about every cpl months and all the shock it is for is to settle everything to the bottom so i can vacuum it up. My pool is sparkling clear. i can see every lil spec. Good luck and I hope this helps.....Let me know!

I have a 16x32 dished out pool; average depth 5.5ft

First of all to answer your question. Yes the intex generator will work with a 16x36
Where do you get an average of 5.5ft when you say the pool is 36" deep
Well now the bad news. A salt water system will not solve your algae problems
Algae comes from wrong pool maintainence
You must now with a green pool shock your pool with 1 gallon of chlorine and now with a pool brush brush the sides and bottom now wait 4 hours for things to settle.
now vaccum clean cartridge if applicable or back flush your sand filter
wait 24 hours and brush again.
Continue to do this until it starts to clear watch your chlorine level and if it starts to get low shock again until the green goes away.
You will also need to buy an algacide, non foaming and follow the directions usually 14-24 ounces per 10,000 gallons of water
also put a stabilizer in your pool to help maintain your chlorine level. It will still drop but not as fast
one of the main contributing factors to a green pool or lack of sanitizer ( chlorine ) is # of bathers, sun, heat, sun
tan oils, and even the most common problem Lack of use.
The water needs to be constantly moving to help prevent algae. If you do not use it for a few days or so then brush it even if you do not see algae Guarantee if you go in the pool a few days later after not using it for a bit you would feel the slipperyness HMMMMMM is that a word anyway you would feel it

Another thing to consider is to filter filter filter
unless you have a 4000 gl ph pump you can not get enough filtering with an intex pump.

a pool should be turned over at least 3 times a day this means if you have lets say a 5000gallon pool and a 2000 gl ph filter you will need to filter at least 7.5 hours and that is at the low end
An intex pump pulls about as much energy as a 40 watt light bulb I have aintex 2500gl ph pump with a 7000gl pool I run my filter 24/7

Bottom line is you do not need a salt system that is just one more so to speak chemical to maintain at a certain level

Stick with getting your chemicals right and your problems will go away if you have any more questions or something specific just e-mail me

No doubt about it the Intex Krystal Clear Deluxe Saltwater System & Filter Pump. No more chemicals to add and no more money to spend. Just buy salt. Could not be easier. I own one myself. http://www.intexcorp.com/saltwater_02.html
