Microsoft 6000 wireless keyboard / Mouse & KVM

Hi any KVM switch will work with these products

Belkin normally make very good KVM switches but they are pricey, cheaper ones can be picked up on Ebay, but not too sure of the quality

Euromax code box for virgin midia

Check that you are getting power to your StarView SV211K 2-port KVM switch. Try disconnecting the power, and then reconnect it, to "reset" the KVM. Check all the cables from port #1 on the KVM to computer #1. Check all the cables from port #2 on the KVM to computer #2.
Check all the cables from your Keyboard/Video/Mouse to the KVM.

If you still have a problem, disconnect everything from the KVM,
and connect the Keyboard/Video/Mouse directly to computer #1,
to ensure that it works *without* involving the KVM.

GCS62 - both computers must be on for this thing to work?

It seems that you KVM switch is not working properly. computers connected to a KVM switch are not dependent to each other. you should be able to work on any of your computers while the others were turned off.

Problem with KVM switch and Vista

Your problem has nothing to do with the Operating System (Vista), it has something to do with the brand of your computer. I have similar problem before, I have Vista (Dell), but the time I connected another Vista (Sony Vaio), everything worked correctly.

This is what you need to do:

1. You have to make sure that you are using a standard USB keyboard and mouse.

2. Connect first the keyboard and mouse directly to the Vista computer to see if the USB ports of your computer are working properly.

3. You may power cycle the KVM switch by disconnecting it from the computers (including the keyboard and mouse) and leave it disconnected for 2 minutes.

4. Reconnect everything after two minutes and then reboot the computers.

5. Try using different USB keyboard if problem exist after power cycling the KVM switch.

Mouse and keyboard not recognized on second computer

Solution for the mouse. I have 8 KVM's. Most of my computers work with the KVMs. On 1 inland KVM the logitect and Microsoft optical mice do not work on one computer (but work with the other computers). They both are USB. I hook them up with a USB to PS2 adapter. If I use a ps2 ball mouse connected to the KVM the mouse works. All the Mice work if I directly connect them. Since I do not want a ball mouse I got a Frisby optical PS2 mouse. It works with all the computers on the KVM's.

I do not have a solution for the Keyboard yet. 1 computer (ASUS MB) on my trendnet or belkin 4 postion KVM does not recognize the keyboard.

According to their website, the driver is Vista compatible.

When you attempt to switch PC's, do they both stop responding, or just one?

Belkin (F1DK102P) 2-port KVM Switch freezes

We have the same model and the same problem. The scroll lock combo did not work for us. You need to press Ctrl, Ctrl then up or down arrow.

The manual was a load of old Tom *** as it did not mention this.

When ever trouble shooting a KVM that has a problem with one computer always swap the cables at the computer end -- that will tell you if you have a computer or KVM issue.
