SOURCE: Boston Acoustic BA735 wont play on my computer

The cable with 2 rings is stereo, a single ring is mono, you have to make sure that you are using the right cable/speaker combo. The speaker output is usually lime green, hope this helps, more info perhaps?

SOURCE: Boston Acoustics Digital BA735 Speakers with no Analog input.

I use one set of BA735 with two computers. Computer A sends digital out and Computer B sends analog. BA735 plays both. I listen to music using digital while the analog from the other computer alerts me to the incoming messages in Pidgin.

I did have to change bios settings on one computer to use the on-board audio.

To enable digital output in XP, click on the speaker icon > Advanced > Select Enable SPDIF. You can leave the PC Spk Mute unchecked if you want the analog output as well. That's all.

I hope you are able to enjoy the rich sound of BA735. It's beautiful. My ears thank a lot for replacing those desktop speakers. BA735 hardly takes up any space . Two small speakers are perched on the hutch and the bass module is somewhere behind the desk, completely invisible.

SOURCE: Connecting BA735 digital 3.5mm plug with S/PDIF coax jack

The male mono plug (from the left small speaker) should be connected into the right speaker (small speaker with controls) . After plugging the multi pin cable from the control speaker to the sub-woofer you need to plug in a signal source from your computer (or any other digital signal) into the sub-woofer. This digital input looks like an ordinary RCA plug but carries many channels of audio. That connects to the enabled digital output of your computer. Some computers output digital through a 3.5mm jack others look just like an RCA phono jack. If you are lucky some BA735 sub-woofers have a second input that is a standard 3.5mm stereo jack and it will take analog audio from computer, DVD, MP3 player or the like. I have three sets of these speakers that I love because of their big volume considering such a small size.

I miss some cables of the Digital BA735. Which cables I have to purcahse?

You need a set of RCA cables, Red & White, you will need two sets. The Cables, simply wire color to color. You nay also need, some adapters, if you cannot get RCA to Phono Jack, on one end. To make with PC, Output Socket, you need an 3.5mm Phono, Jack, and on the other end, the RCA, for connection to the Speakers

Assuming you are using digital BA735.

Dell laptops come with a proprietery s-video dongle. It gives you a digital output which can go into the BA735 speakers.

Hi Tom,

I just got the dell vostro 410 and had the same problem... So I unpluged the digital cable, got a 1/8 male to 1/8 male cord, plugged it into the analog in on the back of ba735 and the other end into my headphone jack on the front of my system and the speakers work great again......... I have XP Prof. installed as os. Hope this helps... by the way 1/8 is the plug that is on the opposite end of your ba735 digital cable that plugs into your computer, just need a cable with that plug on both ends...

How do I select digital instead of analog output from my sound card

Try getting a 1/8 male plug on each end of cable and plug into the analog in on back of BA735 and the other end into the earphone jack on your laptop.... Sould have your sound with no other update or downloads.... Good luck! By the way you won't need the digital cable anymore...

No sound. Sound card or speaker failure??

These speakers only accept digital input in form of 3.5mm mini-din digital out from your source.
