I can't do anything. I have my new Twitter account. The problem is my old Twitter account is still on there and I would like it deactivated. The email address I had for my old Twitter account I deactivated because I had to create a new email address. Is there a way to fix this and get my old account deactivated? I would appreciate more respectful answers and not rudeness.

Yup, "two rude answers" & then you don't even bother to comment to the person that suggested a solution and/or give an update about what happened... Some people's children. ;-P

Do the following (information thanks to twitter)

  • We only retain your user data for 30 days from the date of deactivation, after which it is permanently deleted.
  • You may reactivate your account at any time during these 30 days by logging in.
  • You do not need to deactivate your account to change your username or email address; you can change it at any time in your account settings.
  • To use a username or email address on another account, you must first change them and then confirm the change prior to deactivation. (See below for instructions.)
  • We do not control content indexed by search engines like Google or Bing.
  • After deactivation, your account should be removed within a few minutes, however some content may be viewable on twitter.com for a few days.

SOURCE: My wall posts are appearing on my wife's profile.

There is a very simple solution to this problem. in your gmail account you should be able to invite her to use gmail and just have her create a gmail account all her own, instead of being on a sub account under you.

I have actually never heard of what you are describing before, and I have been a gmail user for years, well, matter of fact since it started.

If she uses her own separate email account, not a sub account of any kind, that will resolve the issues.

SOURCE: facebook invalid

You guys need to contact TrustE as the privacy settings have now changed and you are unable to access your account and FB changed the settings it now means your profile is visible to everyone and you are unable to change your priavcy settings. This is in violation of FB's own privacy policy and is an infringment of your rights as people are able to see your pictures etc. If you submit a complaint to TurstE they should uphold it and help mediat between the user and FB finding a solution.

How to cancel my twitter account

I'm assuming you're trying to sign up for a new Twitter account with a new email address? Unfortunately Twitter won't allow you to sign up for a new account with the same email address as the old account.
If you're trying with a new email address, it sounds like you have a cookie from Twitter that is "remembering" your old account. Try this: After deactivating your account again, go into your browser settings and delete your cookies. The instructions will vary based on the browser you're using, but below are the instructions for Internet Explorer.

  • Go to Tools - Internet Options. If you don't see Tools, look for a gear icon in the upper-right of your browser window.
  • On the General tab, click Delete.
  • In the window that pops-up, make sure Cookies is checkmarked and click Delete.

How do I delete a twitter account ?

How To Deactivate Your Twitter Account

Deactivating your account permanently removes your profile and information from Twitter. Deactivated profiles will take 30 days to clear from our internal systems. While the deactivation is being completed, usernames or email addresses cannot be used in the creation of a new account. Before you do it, you should know...
  • This is final and permanent.
  • You do not need to deactivate your account to change your username; change it easily and at any time in your account settings.
  • Unless you change your username and email before deactivation, you will not be able to use them on a new account for 30 days.
  • Account restoration is not available at this time.
To deactivate your account:
  1. Log in to Twitter
  2. Click Settings from the drop-down menu at the top right of your Twitter account.
  3. Click 'deactivate my account' at the bottom of the page (shown below).
  4. Enter your password when prompted.
  5. Verify that you really want to do it and voila, it's done.
To free up your username or email address before deactivating your account:
  1. Go to your Settings page from the drop-down menu at the top right of your Twitter account.
  2. In the username field, choose a new username (Try adding an underscore or a number to it).
  3. In the email address field, change your email address to a new address you also own.
  4. Confirm the new email address via a link we send to you (very important!).
  5. Proceed with deactivation as listed above. Your email and username will now be free to use on a new account should you choose to sign up again during the 30 day deactivation period.

Note: we change your settings immediately, and any/all old links appearing in a Google or other search index thus lead to error pages. However, these old links appear because Google and other search engines have cached old content in their search index. Twitter has no control over this, but you can send them a request to take it down.
