Need to know what you have it connected to, and how it's connected (what type of cables, etc). Without that, it's just guesswork

    Thanks but I have fixed it. Took out scart and then reconnected it and it is now fine

What is your current setup?

If your DVD player has both HDMI and Component connectors it should auto select between them.

Are you using the red white and yellow connectors?

What do you have connecting your DVD player to your TV?

Region-free DVD players are sold through various venues.Try playing it in a computer DVD player/burner. Some burners are region-free. Some software can copy your purchased disks, removing the region code in the process.

Sony CX995v "Cannot Play" message on DVDs but plays CDs O.K.
Hi...
The laser goes thru a different lens arraignment for DVDs.
Take it to a TV shop and have them "blow out" the laser assembly with some CO2 and clean the lens.

Region Selection
You cannot change the region code again after 5 times of changing even if you move it to a new computer or install a new OS on your computer, I recommend buying a new DVD Drive to access full functionability and no restrictions.

RE ACER ASPIRE 5735 No sound on DVD
You need to play DVDs through Acer Arcade. To do this you can turn off autoplay (use help function), or assign Acer Arcade to automatically play DVDs. If you still want to use Windows Media Player to play your DVDs you must uninstall Acer Arcade.
