most of cars use rods, linkage, to comunicate gear shifter and transmission and this linkage have loints witch are robber and these robber joints some times wear out and you need to replace them. Open the shifter cover and check if therr is any damage there and inside the hood find the transmission shifter on the transmission and follow the linkage and inspected too, if these things are ok the check the transmission itself
Sometimes you can clear cars computer by taking off battery cable,maybe it will work for you, leave battery cable off about 10 mins. and try that. Just a fast thought, Hope it works for you. Billy Wyatt
