These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Hi, thankyou, it won't respond to anything but has a constant blinking without any pauses , does this probably mean the main board is faulty and if so can it be repaired or should I return it to where I bought it.

75% might be. It will be best to make it confirm. Contact any service tech: and seek his advice too. Sometimes, if there is any loose contact with any cable connections with its socket, this kind of fault can occur. Anyway, I don't think so. But isn't it will be a best practice too; to contact any before make any further repair? I might be far away from you, and I had the details that you've provided here, and with it I did posted a solution. OK?

SOURCE: Red power indicator light is blinking

The flashing light indicates a short circuit inside the power supply circuitry. This type of repair is not a DIY without a multimeter, desoldering iron and hand soldering skills. I repair these power supplies, if you need further info write to [email protected]

SOURCE: My TV will not turn on....it's red light just blinks

The main board or the power supply is seeing a start-up problem.
When there is a start-up problem discovered the TV will flash the red light and the TV will not be allowed to power up.
A TV service tech will have to check out all the different boards to find what the problem is. Sorry, there is not an easy fix for you issue.
I hope this information has helped you.
Good Luck.

I have LG 32LC46-ZC TV. It suddenly stopped working, no picture, no sound. The LED blinks 5 times after turning on, but nothing else. Any suggestions?

These blinks (flashes) are fault indication. By the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit stage inside the TV. Count the blinks occur at one time switch ON, carefully. Do it once again, and make sure about the number of blinks. If the flashes are continious, non-stop, the main system control IC should be suspected. If you wish to get more details, check the site linked here. It has blinking codes detail to many brand TVs. Philips 42PFL7603D/10 won't turn on flashes red 4 times slowly then red 6 times quickly

This is an indication of error codes for defects inside the TV. In order to ensure this is not caused by some erratic signal to system IC, switch off TV manually, Switch off power and remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry. If it does not work even then, the TV might need service.

Try changing the input device to something you are sure, works such as a DVD player.

Switch off TV manually, switch off power, remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

Hi,
The lamp has already a resistance which is sense by the processor and made the unit a subsequent shutdown. It will produce an overload to the ballast board which is detected by the processor. Replace it with new one and your unit will back to normal again.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

Hello have a problem with tv Model is: lg

http://lgknowledgebase.com/kb/index.php?View=entry&EntryID=6281

The above link goes to lg's website describing the red flashing light where the power switch is, and

another switch down below which can turn that light off.

Try switching that other switch below off so the light turns off. Then, switch it back on.

If that doesn't work, then service should be scheduled for this discontinued model.

Hope this helps on your lg tv.
