Originally, this problems occurred for a few seconds once I turned on the tv, then it went away. it then progressed to a few minutes and is now constant. I have opened the back and checked all of the connects and have not found a loose one.
Hi Im Alienware X51 and i thinck i can help you.
ok what you have there is a picture problem from the T-Con board of the tv. actuali tv screen don get fried never. the only thing is seeng a broken screen. but your problem is picture problem. open you tv again and look for the t-con board on lcd tv is located on the top of the tv panel. some times on the bottom but. you will see to flat cables. disconect one of them. then turn on the tv see if the tv looks black or completely white, if you not see it like that and you see it like rainbow then then the T-Con board has to be change. on of the side have to look white or black if both side looks like rainbow then you have to buy a new T-Con board. no dont let the main board behind. the main board may be the problem to. so chek both T-con board and main board. to make sure you're buying the right part.
Unfortunately what you have is a fried screen. Toss it at the city dump and get a new TV. Wallmart has 36 and 45 inch TV's for under 300 dollars
Good luck
