SOURCE: Kenmore 20702 Top Load Washer Problem

First check the lid switch. Its a little slot inside the top panel and when the door is closed it has a prong that pushes the switch down when closed. It is a safety feature. If you can find this press the slot with a screwdriver or something and listen for a clicking sound. It is also possible that one of the wires has come off, so that may need to be looked at too. Also check the lid to see if the prong has been broken off. If you have both of these things checking good, then it may be a more complicated issue like power to the wig wag coils, or a timer. We can however eliminate the motor, belt and water pump as these all work. I would put my money on a simple lid switch problem though.

SOURCE: My Whirlpool washer won't agitate or spin . But it does drain the water.

i also had the same problem, and it ended up being the coupler. It was not hard to replace, it cost me about 19.00. I didn't follow full recomende instructions. I tipped the washer backwards. Removed the drain pump and the motor itself. Then I removed the old coupling and placed the new one. The washer is working like new...

SOURCE: Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.

SOURCE: doesnt agitate or spin.

Mine is 1 1/2 years old and this worked for me

unplug from power for at least 30 seconds

turn the dial to spin but don't pull out

plug back in to power and open and shut completely so switch is engaged solidly 11 times in 15 seconds.

pull out knob to turn on

This should clear a error code.

hope it helps!

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6700TW1 skips wash cycle and stops after 14 minutes to oL

oL is an Overload error. Try running a cycle empty.

If oL (overloaded) appears in display, the load too large. If an overload is detected, the washer will drain any water and detergent in the washer. Remove several items and add HE detergent. Close lid and press START/PAUSE.

Whirlpool Cabrio Washer does not spin the water completly out of the clothes

probably not getting into high speed spin mode
they spin slow in the initial stages to allow the clothes to become evenly distributed then after the water is removed they pick up speed
It is possible a problem in the program board not advancing to high speed
Call in a technician for a proper diagnosis and a quote

Cabrio washer stops spinning and doesn't restart

it sounds like the water pump is not emptying properly, blow down the water outlet pipe to see if is clear if not go to the water pump and clean it out there is probably a button , paper clip or other debris preventing it from doing its job eric

Why doesn't Cabrio washer wash the clothes?

This model has gone through different control board revisions, could be control board related, service mode would have to be accessed to have machine run thru self-diagnostics. if it does not agitate on self-diag mode, unit needs board

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SB2 won't spin or agitate. We bought it used and they swore it worked. It goes from 45min and drops down to 3mins. It never completes it's load. And after it beeps with a OL on

Hi.

Most spin troubles are caused by drain or pressure switch problems, but it does not look like that is your case. Check for blockage in drain system and clean the hose connected to pressure switch. As said I do not think that this is the problem but the drain system must be checked as part of troubleshooting.

OL code in fact is not related to drain problems, but to motor and mechanical problem. OL is returned when the washer is overloaded and the motor cannot turn the basket properly.

The first step to diagnose the problem is removing the basket and looking for problems under the basket (e.g. broken part or clothes stuck under the tub). Here a document showing how to.

If parts under the basket are OK the next step will consist in testing the motor. The motor can be tested reading impedance at its phase terminal and across the stator winding. The Cabrio's motor should read about 30/32 Ohms across its phase contacts.

If the motor and the rest are OK the problem is usually the RPS sensor that detects the rotational speed of the motor.

Regards.

Whirlpool top load washer no low-speed agitation. The unit fills, starts the wash cycle with normal agitation, but after a few minutes it just sits there soaking until the it's time to drain/spin. Drains...

Either the wire going to motor for non working speed is loose or damaged, or motor is bad. It could also possibly be timer not sending power to motor for that speed.

Not spinning or draining, only fills and agitates

the mixing valve in the rear needs to be repaced-it controls the water flow Also sounds like the clutch of the transmision maybe be a factor if the machine doesn't spin

Will fill and drain, not agitate or spin though

I am having the exact same problem with the same brand machine.  I put in a load of clothes to soak till the morning, but in the morning, the washing machine would only fill, spin, and drain.  The agitator would not wash the clothes, so they came out with the soap of course still crusted in.

Whirlpool Cabrio WTW6600SW1: Won't drain

The washer drew half a tub of water on the "Bulky items" cycle, and stopped. All the lights on the cycle dial light up and flash, the machine beeps and the me error message in the "estimated time remaining" field is "Ld". I've tried to shut the machine down and change the cycle to "drain and spin" but it will not agitate, won't drain or spin.
