No. The camera does not contain charging circuitry. You need to use the supplied charger (or equivalent).

In my experience regarding the flash; make sure to check the settings of the camera that you did not deactivate the flash. It is usually a lightning bolt symbol displayed in the lcd screen; it is usually activated in full auto mode. If you do not see the lightning bolt or the symbol with the lightning bolt crossed out this also means it is deactivated.

If the camera still does not fire the flash then you may need a repair and the authorized FujiFilm service center that I deal with is Photo Tech Repair Service in NYC. www.phototech.com They can also probably get you the battery door that is broken. Sadly it will probably cost more to fix than it will to buy a new camera from Amazon. If you don't mind the "cosmetic smudge" use a bit of gaffa tape to keep the door shut.

Didn't fix the problem. Part not available so duck tape will have to do until I'm forced into another camera. I like this camea but both Fuji's I purchesed had the same problem with a door. The other was the battery door where the tabs that kept the door closed chipped off so the door would not stay closed.
I will not purchse another Fuji.

Yes you can get these as repalcement parts by contacting Fuji, or one of theior repair agents, in your country, or you can return the camera to one of the repair agents to get the job done for you.

Sounds like you've damaged the cut out switch for the memory card door. this can be fixed by bypassing the switch on the board

The problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sand paper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, wipe the ends of the batteries, and replace them in the camera. This cleaning process works about 90% of the time, and I hope that it cures your problem.

Contact you local Fuji dealer. They should know where you can get parts (or THEY may even to be able to get them for you). It can be done, we fix Fuji stuff all the time.

This is a chip problem... My FIRST S7000, had this problem, and I had it replaced by Fuji {out of warranty}, now today, the SECOND S7000 is doing the exact same thing!
