SOURCE: I updated my PS3 to

8002F997

- This error is caused by an issue with updating the PlayStation 3 firmware by USB drive. Ensure there are no problems with the USB drive. Download the firmware update to the USB drive again to ensure the firmware file is not corrupt. Try the installation of the firmware again. If all else fails, update firmware over the network.

How can I fix 8002F334 error in my ps3

I've seen this error code going around for the older PS3's. From what I can gather, it's a HDD issue that can't be cured easily. Here are the steps to take that I found, that seem to work for all PS3 systems.
  • take out the hard drive
  • connect hard drive to pc (running windows 7 64bit, but any windows os should work without other software)
  • open up disk management - in win7 it asked me to make a master boot record, so I did.
  • format in NTSF - that's right, NTSF - don't use quick format
  • shut down pc, take out hd, take usb drive too
  • put hd back in ps3, put usb stick in ps3
  • boot ps3
  • a screen will pop-up saying the hard disk have to be formatted
  • hold start + Select for 5 sec.
  • After formatting the system will restart and the update will start installing
  • configure your ps3 setup - done
  • Remember to get the latest firmware from SONY onto the USB drive.

PS3 No Display Error

This is another problem that is fairly common and it is all down to the overheating problem but this time it is the GPU which deals with the graphics that has taken all of the heat.

You can fix it by sending it in or using a good repair guide to fix it:

I can connect to the internet on my ps3, but it won`t let me sign in to my ps3 network. My roomate has a ps3 also which runs on the same router and he can still sign in to his. Please help me fix this...

Hi,

Don't worry. There is a huge problem occurring right across the board at this very moment with the PSN Network. Some consoles are not synchronising properly due to an internal clock error causing problems exactly like you describe. It seems that your console is one of these effected whilst your roomate's is not.

It is expected that Sony will soon have this resolved and they are currently working on a fix.

For a full breakdown please look at this FixYa Tip.

If the solution helps, please leave a vote for it. Thanks.

My sony ps3 is showing an error message of a corrupt file and it can fix itself but when i try to follow direction it will return to message about corrupt file again. cannot play anything, dvd or games...

System file or data coruption is innevitable. If it is preventing you to make your PS3 work, you'll need to get rid of that corrupted file. To do that you have to format your hardrive, if it won't work try to do a system restore.

Error code 8002F1F9 is a pain!!! I am stuck in the system update loop. I have.. 1-hooked up to the internet wireless and wired. 2-put a jumpdrive w/newest update on it into the usb 3-held the power button...

try to format it first ok, choose the custom format->FULL system format it will take 2-3 hours so dont panic, just format it, now if it doesn't work just go to the nearest PC store and buy ur self a brand new laptop hard disk with any size u want and replace it with the old one, but format FIRST okkkkk
