Firstly do not worry.
Your apps are safe as are your games if you downloaded them from google.
You need to do the following:
Make sure you have a note of your google account details including your login.
Make sure you have the details you need to access the internet, including account, email, login and any access info you need for the router or hub if you are using one.
Perform a hard reset on the device.
Log into the hub if required.
Log onto the internet.
Access your google account and go to 'My Apps'
Re download all your apps and games.

If you have the 3G model of Kindle then you can download books using 3G which is like you would use with a mobile phone.
If you don't have 3G then you will need to connect to a WiFi network in order to download books directly to the Kindle. See the Connecting With WiFi Guide for details of how to do so.
You can also transfer books directly from your PC to your Kindle using a USB lead - see the video guide on how to do this.
Connect the USB cable that came with your Kindle to a PC.When
prompted, select "Open folder to view files using Windows Explorer." You
should now see 3 folders named: "Audible, music and documents." Open the "documents" folder. From the "View" menu in explorer, select
"Details." so that you can see all file details -- in columns. Click on
the top of the "Name" column to sort all of your documents by name. You
should see two files for each book you have on your Kindle. The
extensions for these files are ".AZW" and ".MBP" The AZW file will be
the largest of the two. For each title you wish to remove, select both
related files and delete them. Don't forget you can hold down the "Ctrl"
key to select multiple items in the list...
Disconnect the USB cable from your Kindle. Turn the Kindle off, then
back on. The deleted titles should now be missing from your Kindle home
page.
It is much easier to delete the content on Kindle 2, scroll to the
shaded line below the book you want to delete. Push the mouse button to
the right and a menu will pop up - "Remove from Device" is the last
option. Scroll to that choice, select and Voila!
