I have an older Toshiba TF-501 fax machine that was given to me without a manual. I need to change the name in the programming to our company name. If someone knows where I can get a manual for this machine. Nothing on toshiba website.

The following procedure will reprogram a new station (home fax number) for your machine. Thank you for using Fixya and please post back with any questions or to rate the answer provided.

1. Press MENU 0,3
2. Enter your new fax number (if the old still exists, move the cursor/arrow back ward to the first position to change the number displayed
3. Press SET
4. Enter telephone number (if it's the same as the fax number, enter the fax number again)
5. Use the dial pad to enter your name (if your name still exists, leave it as it reads)
6. Press SET
7. Press STOP/EXIT

You will be given a choice to press 1 to continue with the change or 2 to exit without changes.
Press 1
The date and time will now appear and the change is complete

If your Station ID has already been programmed, the LCD prompts “1” to make
a change, or “2” to exit without changing.

Make sure the phone line is plugged in correctly...ie. into LINE not PHONE. Facsimile machines will recieve , normally, without "programming" for sending number or company name. You can also check to see if the line is active by pressing the on hook button for a dial tone.

Program, I(capital letter I ), ENTER to access initial programming then again scroll to nam you wish to change.

if you don't have one handy, the steps to set your fax machine's number is on page 42. The steps to take are:

Setting the Station ID
You should store your name or company name and fax number so
they print on all fax pages you send.
1 Press Menu/Set, 0, 3.
2 Enter your fax number
(up to 20 digits).
Press Menu/Set.
3 Use the dial pad to enter your name (up to 20 characters).
(See Entering Text on page B-11).
Press Menu/Set.
4 Press Stop/Exit.
You cannot enter a hyphen in the fax number. To enter a space
press once between numbers.
If the Station ID has already been programmed, the LCD will ask

Set Speed Dial / One-Touch Feature

1. Open One-Touch Speed Dialing Panel and press “Data Registration.”
2. Under “Additional Functions” scroll to find “4. ADD. Registration” and then press “Set.”
3. Scroll to find “1. 1-One-Touch Speed Dial” and then press “Set.”
4. Under “Tel # Registration” scroll until the desired “One-Touch” number is displayed. Press “Set.”
5. Under “Tel # Registration” scroll to find “1. Tel Number Entry” and then press “Set.”
6. Under “Tel Number Entry” enter fax number (with “9” and the area code – ex. 913104454200) and then press “Set.” Screen will display “Data Entry OK.”
7. Under “Tel # Registration” scroll to find “2. Name” and then press “Set.”
8. Under “Name” enter the company name and press “Set.” Screen will display “Data Entry OK.”
9. Press the red “Stop” key on the main control panel.
10. The “One-Touch” feature is now set.

On every fax i've worked on, you cannot edit groups. You have to delete the group and start over.
