not familiar with that tablet but most charging problems are either the cord or battery needs replacing. If light does not come on when on charge then you need a new cord. If light comes on and it won't hold the charge then it's time to replace your battery.
Turned off the tablet, unplugged the charger and kept the tablet off for about 30 minute to one hour, plugged in back the charger, then turn on the tablet. After that I you might see the tablet started charging. Good Luck.
I think you answered your own question. If you get a charging indication when plugged in and it stays on only while plugged in, that mean the internal power supply is accepting the charger power and trying to charge the battery but your battery is toast and will need to be replaced. The same principle would apply for any laptop or smartphone for that matter.
You can try a factory restore, but if that doesn't work you will need to buy a new tablet. These cheap tablets are throw-aways unfortunately. Note that a factory restore will erase any files you have on the device.
Factory Restore on Android devices:
- Turn off the device
- Hold Volume Down and also press the Power button until a menu comes up
- Use the Volume Up and Down buttons to select Factory Reset (or Restore)
- Press Power to select
The charger is working. Your Battery won't take a charge. Does the tablet work when it is plugged in? If so, your battery is not holding a charge anymore. Low budget tablets are famous for this. My daughter has had two that are dead. Both a little over a year old. You can take it to the Microsoft store and see if they have another charger and see if it charges. Otherwise it's the battery.
