Photos being transferred from SD-HC 4GB memory card

My camera is COOLPIX S630 and when I transfer photos from the memory card to my PC (Vista) and select the ones to be pulled into Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0, the transfer corrupts up to half of them. They either don't show or color lines appear across them.

I save the ones that are okay, delete the ones that are not from Elements. Then I reinsert the memory card and some of the ones that became corrupt during the first tranfer, will pull in okay the second time. When I look at my photos on my camera, they are fine. When I take my memory card to have prints made, they print fine. Only when I want to pull them into my computer, is there a problem.

Thanks for your advice.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

S4100 Coolpix. memory messages when reviewing photos on SDHC

No, your camera cannot use SDHC cards. It's only a 4 megapixel camera so a 2GB SD card will hold hundreds of pics.

I'm useing the pny optima sd/hc 60 hd 4gb scan disk! it has photos on it useing the camera, nikon coolpixl20. using nikon transfer does not load pictures on computer.

I had same problem. Neither computer nor printer would recognize the SDcard. I took the card to Walgreen's and the card was read just fine. I suspect that we are running XP and do not have the right driver; but I can't seem to find the right driver. Morgen

Memory card

To transfer the photos, connect directly SD card to your PC through a card reader.
Try to reset your HP R707 camera: remove the battery and press the reset switch for about 5 seconds. Reinsert the battery.

Memory Card

If you transfer the photos to your computer from the camera, you should be able to save to another memory card. I can't say whether or not the photos on the new memory card will show up on your camera since there may be certain requirements to display on camera screen.
Plug your camera into the computer USB or insert old memory card. A box should pop up giving you the option to view files. Copy and Paste (or Drag) selected photos to a specified folder on your computer (Like My Pictures in My Documents). Insert new memory card. Copy and Paste (or Drag) selected photos to the drive for your memory card.
