OPen ncpa.cpl and check the status for the connection. if wireless shows connected, then perform the following steps
Boot your computer in Last Known Good Configuration, from advanced Boot menu ("http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode" to know how you can enter in Advanced boot option.). Then try to go online.
Boot the computer in Safe Mode With Networking and check are you able to go online?
open command prompt (cmd (run as administrator)) and try to get IP and Default Gateway Address vai "IPCONFIG"
try to ping IP, DG, www.google.com and 173.194.36.50(which is an IP address of www.google.com), and check what replies you are getting.
If all these 4 links are pinging, check for proxy on the browser.
If default gateway is not there, then power cycle the computer as well as router.
If IP address of the website is not giving any reply, then type the command on command prompt " ipconfig /flushdns" and restart the computer.
If you are not getting your IP address then try for these commands " ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew".
While pinging the website, if you are getting Request Timed Out, then type the command on the command prompt window and restart the computer " netsh winsock reset".
If still the problem persist, try with new user account.

1. Try booting up your computer in 'safe mode with networking' and check if the web pages are loading. If so, the problem might be with the firewall on the computer.(Make sure that you have connected the laptop wired onto the modem/router before going into safe mode. You can go into 'safe mode with networking' by continuously tapping the F8 key just as soon as you press the power button)
If it does not work try this:
2. Open up command prompt (start>Run>cmd in win xp or else for vista and win 7 click Start>type in cmd in the 'start search' box and right click on cmd.exe on the top and select 'run as administrator' ;click on yes or continue in the next box )
3. type in the following commands: Hit the Enter key after typing in each command
ipconfig /flushdns netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt netsh winsock reset
restart your computer. see if it works. reply if it doesn't.

first shut down the computer and then while u turn on the computer start pressing F8 on the computer for 12 times and it will give you an option for advanced boot option from the list select safe mode with networking and then try to boot the computer ,,,,,once u log on to safe mode then go to run and in run type in msconfig ,,,in system configuration box select services and disable unwanted services and then restart the computer on normal boot and then the system will work fine ,,,,,,
go to run and type cmd. When a screen pops up type " ping www.google.com" , omiting these quotes and press enter. If you get something back which says things like ttl etc..then you have an internet connection..If you get a negative reply then you know you definitely have no connection.Try to reset your wireless connection and check if your firewall is stoping you..Also try on cmd prompt " ipconfig/all "..Check the results on google and maybe this could be helpful as well, on cmd prompt, type " ipconfig / iprenew" and press enter..Then when you are back at a blinking cursor then type " ipconfig / iprelease...Try these and if does not help then you should also consider rebooting the pc and restarting windows wireless configuration..(Google it and you will be fine)
if the firewall is on then off it if any proxy server is there then off it then try it after then also so not working then restart the computer and go for the start then run in that type ping google.com -t if this is showing reply then your internet its working
