Debra, I would run a hot water cycle without cloths, add clorex -clorine and a little detergent to the water. After the cycle fully runs, leave the lid open for few hours. It might help. Good Luck.

Hi,

This unit has to be worked on from the back or under it. Most of the time that I had work on the pump for drain issues I would tilt it back against the wall and lay under it.

Here is a website (link below) that will show pictures of the break down to help you understand where the components are located. When you get on the website click the pictures on the left side bar for the different views.

I hope this helps.

I have Admiral Mega-22 heavy duty 2 speed washer that won't fill up with water.

Question edited for *Admiral.
Question moved from Speed to Admiral Washing Machine Category.

First check the strainers on the hose inlets to the machine. However it is likely to be the Water Inlet Solenoid.

Does the top loader heavy duty machine have a filter and does it need to be cleaned regularly. If so, where is it located?

No filter to be cleaned in the machine. There are however small wire mesh filters in the screw on connectors that connects the water hoses to the machine at either the tap side or where it are connected to the machine inlets. Unscrew the hoses from the tap and machine inlets and check both hose ends if the wire filters are not to clog up over time resulting in slow water filling of the machine. Remove carefully and clean with a nylon brush. Replace again.

70 Series Kenmore Washer Agitates in Heavy Duty regardless of switch selection

Yours is a 2 speed motor. Does it spin in 2 different speeds. If so, then it most likely is designed with only to agitate in 1 speed. If it only spins in one speed, then your motor is defective

There is a moldy smell coming from my washing machine. I have run bleach, lysol, and vinegar throught the washer but nothing seems to alleviate the problem. My husband has also checked under the washing...

I had the same problem once and I had a leak behind the wall, I fixed the leak but still smelled it for a while. I had a small opening in the wall, so I sealed up the hole with that expanding spray filler and it went away
I think the smell is moisture mixed with lint setting on soaked

hope this helps

Admiral heavy duty washer - cleaning filter

Aw22 doesn't have one, remove the front panel to gain access to the pump, To do this insery a flat knife between the top panel and the front panel 4" in from each side to release the clips.
Unclip the two hoses to the pump after draining the machine, lower the external waste hose to floor level to drain.
tilt the machine back to remove the belt.
Remove the 3 bolts for the pump to remove and clean out.
refit in reverse order.
