If you are trying to get your remote to control your computer, that will not work. The remote for your Sansui will only run the TV.

How do i fix when i hook up hdmi cord and the screen wont display and when i hook up vga it does but i want hdmi for my ps3?

You must have to make setting in your ps3 and Display device. Set the display device at auto option for input source. It may be set at VGA. that why you get output of VGA but it does not display output from ps3

Monitor says no signal

if no signal the cause is either the source not connected like the pc the vga cord not hooked up or a monitor failure. to isolate weather it was monitor problem, if you have other monitor you can hooked up just to ensure if the cause is with in the monitor. by the way you must also considered the vga cord which need replacement.

Can you help with connecting a laptop VGA to a philips hdtv lcd (model #32pf7421d) with a component cable? The laptop recognizes that it is connected, but nothing comes up on the TV except for...

Check your laptop with the same VGA cord on some projector or a monitor. If it works there, then there is a problem with your TV's VGA switching circuit. If it does not work, then there is problem with either the VGA cord or laptop's VGA port. To rule out the possibility VGA cord , replace it with new one. Please give the feedback for this so that further diagnosis can be done, if you are comfortable with the TV's electronics.

I just bought a top-end MacBook Air 13.3" 4 GB/256 GB for presentations. I also have a Dell M410HD projector, also quite new (a few months old), which works great with the two PCs (one new, one old)...

They (Apple) might be right. It could be that the projector is damaged, like the bulb, or it could be incompatible with your computer, but I don't think that is the case. Try taking the projector to a computer repair place.

We are trying to hook our TV up to our computer to use it as a monitor. What cords do we need to do this besides the normal monitor cord?

if you want audio as well, it will depend on what kind of audio connection your tv has next to the VGA (computer monitor) connection. If it looks like the normal RCA audio, (red and white plugs) you will need to get a male headphone jack (to plug into your computer headphone or speaker out jack) to stereo RCA cable so you would have a headphone jack on one side of the cable and a red and white plug on the other side. Now if your TV just has what look like a headphone jack next to the VGA (computer monitor plug) you will need to buy a male to male stereo headphone jack cable. for both of these, just make sure the cable you get it long enough, or buy an extension.

Hook vga cord to hdtv and optiplex desk top get

Try a different display setting, for example, 1280 x 800 or 1024 x 768. Once you can see (computer) display, then move onto the best resolution which your display card support for your HDTV. Good luck..

(btw, if your dell has two vga sockets, get another vga cable. Then set your computer to a dual display mode, one for your computer and the other for HDTV. this way you will never lose your display.)

While connected via VGA cable Viewsonic VG920 Monitor has an error stating "out of Range" . H. Frequency 157 Khz V. Frequency 59.8 Khz

It was pretty tricky without instructions but trial & error brought me to a successful resolution. This machine comes from the factory set to connect directly to a television with supplied RCA cable. Do that before you connect to a VGA monitor. Using the remote control, press setup and then go into "preferences" and look around for "video" and then to "VGA". Once you click "VGA" the TV screen goes frighteningly blank. The next obvious step is to hook it to the VGA cable and VGA monitor. If your computer is also hooked up and on to the monitor there is no karaoke picture. Shut off or disconnect computer and presto, there it is. <br>
