In most tv'd there is as a channel retune option from pressing the menu button and selecting setup and then selecting retune. In retune menu there would be a manual retune or an auto retune option.
Karen if you provided the Make and model number of your particular television someone o fix ya could find the user manual most likely and give more precise instructions on how to do this.

In the main settings, there should be an option for AIR or CATV, air is for non-cable and CATV is for cable tv. This has to be on the correct setting before you autoscan

I ran the Auto Scan. Before the scan reached 91%, I pressed the Menu button on my remote and all of the channels that it found locked in.

Select "Auto program"
Select "ANT in"
Select "Auto"
Select scanning mode (ALL channels/Analog only/Digital only
Start scanning the channels
Available channels (analog/digital) are automatically set.
All channels: Scans digital and analog channels
Analog only: Scans Analog channels only
Digital only: Scans Digital channels only
Confirm registered channels
If OK is not pressed after selecting "Apply", the channels will not be saved.
The channel will be saved when no operation is performed for 60 seconds and
the "Manual program" menu will also exit automatically.
If you perform scanning more than twice, previously saved channels are erased.
