You can add a properly formatted microSD card inside the rear of the device:

  • Power off your Nook, unplug from power, and disconnect it from any USB connection.
  • Place it face down on a kitchen towel (so it won't get scratched).
  • Find the tab near the center of the bottom of the back cover.
  • Lift the tab (gently)and open the back. Note that the cover is snapped-in at the bottom, the middle and the top. Unsnap the cover carefully.
  • Identify and open the microSD slot cover with a fingernail, not a screwdriver!
  • Drop the microSD card into place, while lining up the contacts.
  • Close and then lock the card holder.
  • Replace the back cover onto the Nook
  • Snap the sides into place, and close the tab.
  • Power up and enjoy
NOTE: the card needs to be formatted using FAT32 or FAT16 not NTFS!

My daughter-in-lase STEPPED ON my granddaughter's Nook!!!!! Now, although the screen is not broken, there's nothing but lines all over the display. Is there any hope of saving it?

The device cannot be fixed.
Your information is another matter. Any book, music or app you bought will still exist in the account. Also, ANYTHING sent to the cloud will still be there.

All else you put on your Nook is gone unless there is a copy on a PC where it was originally.

If anything was transferred to a SD card, it is still there.

Wont stay on unless charger plugged in. At100% charge

Your battery is failing.
Laptops have the same problem. Either replace the tablet (if it is still under warranty), get a new one, or tear it open to get a new battery.

If you get a new one, you can move all the non Barnes and Noble items onto your computer. Anything you bought from Barnes and Noble is stored under your account and password on their server.
Then, do a factory reset on your old one.

It is usually NOT WORTH IT to rip open a tablet to change the battery.

Will not stay on unless the charger is plugged in

Your battery is failing.
Either replace the tablet (if still under warranty), or get a new one.
Save all that you can onto another computer, and move the stuff onto your new one. The Barnes and Noble items (ebooks and music) are saved under your account and password at the B&N site.

While it is possible to rip open the tablet to replace the battery, is not recommended. It is a difficult task that will damage the case.

How to delete book?

If the o.s. is android, open the application page, then "parameters" or settings, then in "personal" paragraph open "save and reset" (or so, my tablet is not in English). There you will find "factory reset" which erases all data.
It's easy. Good luck!

Reset nook

I think the phrase you are asking about is not "Reset" but rather "Root"

Root is the process of removing the restrictions from software. In this case, the Nook Tablet was designed with the Android OS, and then Barnes and Noble added their "software" on top of it, setting restrictions to the Android OS. an example would be, unable to visit the website Amazon.

Search the forums for XDA Developers as they are constantly updating their information. I have successfully "rooted" my Nook Tablet using an SD Card approach, and have had access to all the features of the internet as well as Google Play store.

Only reason I did it, my wife's games; Temple Run ($15 B&N, $1.99 GPlay)

Best Solution, sell it or return it, if possible, buy a Android only Tablet (Nexus, ASUS, Polaroid, Samsung, etc..)
