How do I turn the voice command off on text messages

When I click on a text message if my volume is up it will read out the text message. How do I stop it from doing that

To turn of this setting:

1. From the home screen, press the Voice Commands key on the right side of the phone. The Voice Commands screen appears in the display. 2. Press the right soft key Settings.The following options appear in the display:
• TXT Msg Readout: Reads out the text in a TXT message. (Turn this off)

  • Send a quick text message: Click the Text button at the top left of the page, above the Inbox label. Enter the phone number, type your message, and click Send.

  • Reply by text message to a voicemail or call: Click the Text link near the bottom of the voicemail or call.

  • Reply to a text message sent to your Google number: Click Text below the text message you received and type your text message. Then, clickSend. You can also do this from your cell phone, but your mobile operator may charge you for this.

  • Send a text message through your Contacts list: Click Contacts on the left side of the page. Select the checkbox next to the contact you'd like to send a text message to, and click the Text link next to the appropriate number.

Samsung intensity reads texts outloud

You can disable the text message reading function by pressing the Menu button (the center OK button), going to Settings & Tools, select #6 - Phone Settings, and then #3 - Voice Command Settings. The first option is Text Message Readout -- you can turn it off and then hit OK to save the changes.

Yeah i have a samsung blackjack 2 and i wanted to know if there was anyway i could turn off the voice reading my text messages when i get one

yes you can go to voice command on the menu and you will see and turn voice enabled to NO and that should do it hope this was helpful:)

When I recieve text messages my Lg xenon ''talks'' . For instance it will say ''message from ...'' I can not figure out how to turn this message alert setting off, I have looked everywhere on the phone but...

You need to disable Call Alert in your Voice Command settings...go into menu - settings - more - application settings - voice command. The last option on the list will be Call Alert, change to ring only.

Voice commands not turning off

You pressed the space button while in a message.... Hit the space button again when your in a message and it should shut off "audible text" where it reads you your text messages. (you'll notice the guys head on the space button)
