A thin vertical line is shown while taking pictures on my canon a810. plz help

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

Hi if you also see the vertical line from computer, then your camera has defective ccd unit or main image control pcb defective. Most of case ccd problem are common and main. your local repair shop would charge around $45 to 135 depend on what they want to charge. Thanks and best regard!
