When compressor comes on, the freezer makes a knocking sound. Is compressor going out?

Cleaned and vacuumed back open side- This freezer is about 7 years old. Worried that I will be away, and freezer will go out.

One of the springs that supports compressor motor inside housing is weak. When compressor turns on the motor torques up against the side of the housing. That explains the knock on startup.

The motor is still good but there is no way to replace the bad spring.
So you can just tolerate the start up knock. Motor has plenty of life in it still.

You can also think about tilting the compressor motor in its mounting in the direction opposite of where it is hitting so that the tilt helps the weak spring and there may be no startup knocking. U have nada to lose - try it!

New freezer is very noisy. Any tips?

If it sounds like it's knocking most likely it's the compressor possibility of faulty bearings, If it sounds like it's having a knocking sound with a rattling/ajar vibration when the compressor knocks off or on it's a sign of a new product/times lol!!! My mother has a GE fridgerator that she had when she first got married never gave my parent any trouble until the pull door handle lock broke which hazardous too children back in the forties and fifties :-( Good luck with your product and consult your product manufacturing retailer.

Freezer side not freezing

Check for ice / frosting inside the freezer .... If present you probably have a defrost problem.... This causes the freezer coil to ice up and block the air flow ... the causes could be a bad defrost heater , defrost timer, defrost sensors, or control board. Also make sure that the condenser coil is clean. remove ALL dust with a vacuum and a coil brush .the coil is located either on the bottom or on the back side of the unit... GE Freezer stopped working

Obviously, the compressor is not running. Confirm the presence of power to the compressor itself. If it is getting power and unit does not run, you have an open motor winding OR if you have a start capacitor the latter could be defective. Let's hope that you have the capacitor because they go bad and are a lot cheaper to replace than the compressor!

My kenmore is not pressure sealing

the problem is that the compressor is not working
call a technician for a proper diagnosis
and it is not a pressure sound but a vacuum sound as the door when closed drops the temp inside the unit and that creates a vacuum making the door temporarily hard to open

Freezer is making a loud noise, assume when compressor is on. Pretty much as soon as the door is opened, the noise begins. Things are still frozen inside.

inside the compressor body there are springs which sometimes break and allow the
motor to knock against the outer enclosure. There is no fix for this as the system is
sealed, short of replacing the compressor. Not a problem with operation, but quite
distracting.
On another note, if the freezer compartment is beginning to freeze up or the fan
blade was installed too far back on the shaft, this could also cause noise.
(it will only make the sound in the freezer compartment when the fan is running
if this is the case). Hope this helps.

I cleaned and defrosted my stand up freezer and you can here it call to go on (clicking noise) but does not come on

Good day,
The clicking you hear is the compressor trying to start and cannot.
It could be caused by the start components mounted on the side of the compressor.
They can be removed and tested. There are 2 or 3 components.
The start relay, the start/run capacitor(some models only) and the overload protector(which makes that clicking sound you hear).
Take the parts to an appliance parts house. They are usually more than happy to test them for you.

If they test o.k. then your compressor failed. A very pricey repair done only by a pro. However.....

If your machine is under 5 years of age do nothing. Call your selling dealer. A new compressor would be free.
You would have to pay for start components but that would maintain the balance of the warranty on the compressor.

LOAD CLICKING SOUND WHEN PLUGED IN TO ELECTRIC

did you just get the freezer or move it recently? this unit doesnt have any fans so I'm thinking the compressor is somehow out of place and when you plug it in the compressor is hitting its steel shell from the inside. remove the compartment cover on the side then plug the freezer in and see if the compressor is making the noise..
