If I have trouble with a brand new TV I always take it back and am sure to get another brand entirely. Personally I've had good luck with LG, SEIKI, and Samsung.

Testimonial: "I called Vizio helpdesk and they said it happens when the weather is cold, there is a coating on the cable connection, and when the TV warms up, it works fine. So he had me turned off the cable box and the TV, hold down the TV power button for 45 seconds which drains the energy on both equipments and turn it back on. The TV has been working good since then."

I just bought a vizio 55" led tv from Walmart two days ago for $1298 I thought this was a good deal considering all the features it had compared to some of the other brands, but now when I watch the tv...

The problem is most likely with the power source and can be fixed. However, it is best that you return the TV to Walmart for an exchange, rather than voiding your warranty and trying to fix it yourself.

Have a Vizio VX37L that when it is turned the

HERE'S THE FIX: I just went through this with my Vizio VX37L. TV is stuck in RGB input. This is the fix.... TV is stuck in RGB input.
(option 1) Power on TV, and press the INPUT button repeatedly and rapidly until you can change to a different input, such as AV.
If that doesn't work, try:
(option 2) With the TV off, press and hold the INPUT button on the side of the TV for about 5 seconds. The TV should power on and the input list will appear. The TV will no longer be locked, and the INPUT button should function properly after that.

Option 2 worked for me!

Vizio shuts itself off

There may be some components failing in the power supply or one of the circuit boards that are causing too high a current pull.

I realize that this answer is very vague. Without doing proper diagnostics, it is impossible to guess at something like this.

Out of warranty repairs on these sets can be very expensive. I would suggest that if the set is going to be expensive to service, it would be best to replace it with a known brand name that offers an extended warranty with local service. You will pay more, but you will have dependability and better quality.

Wavy red lines or red pixelation, not sure what it is

Go to Vizio website and buy the extending warranty, you need to have your TV replaced since the problem is with the screen itself.

I had this same problem. Vizio sent someone out to replace the motherboard. It didn't fix the problem. Since it was under warranty, they replaced it with a newer model VU42L. Doesn't have this problem, but it has others.
