How do I replace the IR sensor?

Both remotes that worked with the tv no longer work. Both remotes have new batteries and light up when buttons are pressed. Is there anything besides ordering and installing the EBR42596404 Pcb Assembly, front? Does it need to be programmed in any way?

I am not familiar with this model but the following may help.
If these remotes are the one that came with this TV then they should work automatically. If not they may need to be "synced" with the TV you may need to see if the TV or Remote manuals have instructions on how to do this.
To check if the remotes are actually sending out a pulse, piont you remote towards the lens os a phone camera and put a remote button. Most phone cameras are sensitive to IR and you will see the led flash which is normally invisible to the human eye.

If you took the batteries out of your remotes to change them, they possibly lost their programming and need to be reprogrammed. I drop my controller often and have to reprogram it. All of the lights light up but the TV appears dead. Either find your control programming guide or look it up on the internet how to reprogram your remote.

Testimonial: "Seems strange that both remotes quit working at the same time."

she commented that "both remotes have new batteries" leading me to believe she put new batteries in them which is why I formed the opinion that they may have lost their programming once the batteries were replaced. I'm no expert but have had this situation happen when I dropped my remote on the floor then tried to use the second remote which came with my TV. The batteries were dead on that one too. I replaced all the batteries and reprogrammed them and they both worked.

How easy is it to replace the Remote IR Sensor on my TV?

Its rare but i have seen a few TV's require the digital main to be replaced for that problem . But if your pickup sensor on that board is bad it should be easy to replace & nothing to program .

RM-GA014 remote can't switch Sony Bravia 46" tv on

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if the TV does not respond to the supplied remote control.
  1. Remove the batteries from the remote control.
  2. Press each button on the remote control twice.
  3. Make sure none of the remote control buttons are jammed.
  4. Install fresh batteries into the remote control. IMPORTANT: Make sure the batteries are inserted in the (+ and -) direction shown inside the battery compartment.
  5. Make sure nothing is blocking the Infrared (IR) sensor on the TV. IMPORTANT: Some locations can interfere with the IR signal from the remote control. Glass enclosures, as well as fluorescent or halogen lights, may prevent the IR signal from reaching the TV.
  6. Point the remote control at the IR sensor of the TV.
  7. Press the POWER button and other buttons to test TV operation. IMPORTANT: Do not hold down the POWER button too long. Doing so may prevent the remote control from operating the TV.
    NOTES:
    • If some of the remote control buttons operate the TV but others do not, the remote control may need replaced.
    • If all of the remote control buttons work, no further troubleshooting is required. Otherwise, continue troubleshooting below.
  8. Try using the remote control at varying distances from the TV. IMPORTANT: Using the remote control too close or too far away may prevent the IR signal from reaching the TV.
  9. Turn the Light Sensor setting to OFF.
    1. On the TV itself, press the HOME button on the TV.
    2. Using the up arrow or down arrow select Preferences.
    3. Press the INPUT button.
    4. Press the up arrow or down arrow to select ECO.
    5. Press the INPUT button.
    6. Use the up arrow or down arrow to select Light Sensor.
    7. Press the INPUT button.
    8. Press the up arrow or down arrow to select OFF.
    9. Press the INPUT button.
  10. Power reset the TV.
  11. Make sure the TV has the latest system software (firmware) update installed, if applicable.
The troubleshooting steps above should resolve the issue. If you completed all the steps and the issue is not resolved, service may be required or the remote control may need replaced. Contact the Customer Experience Center at (239) 768-7547 to speak with a service representative for further assistance.

Tv remote control doesn t work

Can be many things. Make sure the "TV" button on top of the remote is pressed and lights up. You may have set the remote to operate another device. Make sure batteries are new. The IR sensor on the TV must not be obstructed. Strong sunlight on the TV sensor can cause problems. Try holding the front of the remote 2 inches from the sensor and see if that works.

Sharp remote quit working. Lights turn on, could it be the tv's problem? Ga724wjsa

Another way to verify if the remote is working is use your phone or camera to look at the IR eye of the remote while pressing a button you will be able to see a red light everytime you push the buttons to make sure the remote isnt just faulty. For any Sharp TV do it yourself TV repair call us in Centennial, Colorado.

My verizon fios remote control stop to control the 65" cinema series toshiba tv.the remote seems to be ok.The oryginal tv remote doesnt control it also.I think that there is something wron with the tv...

Yes, most likely the sensor is at fault - more precisely it's connections to the motherboard are iffy. You must take the back cover off the tv and reseat them. While you are there check their soldering points - with age they tend to melt and get loose.

Remote does not work

Remove old batteries in the remote and reinstall new one.
Maybe the remote IR diode is faulty if you cannot make it work with new batteries. To check, take a camera phone, with the camera activated look at the small diode at the front of the remote through the camera. You should see the diode blinking when you press a button on the remote.
(The IR diode light cannot be seen by the naked eye but a camera can see it).
If you cannot see a light, the sensor can be changed. If the sensor is OK, then there is a problem with your TV.

Akai KC02-E1 Remote with new batteries stopped working.

First, You cannot resync the remote, Second the IR sensor may be bad on the tv and third, the Digital bd may be bad. The IR sensor connects directly to the Digital bd which is the brains of the tv. Also, there maybe a stuck button on the remote or the buttons on the tv.

Remote Control won't work with TV

Nothing was wrong with the remote in the first place! The problem is in the TV. Some use a sensor that sees the Infra-Red light from your remote, others use an IR phototransistor. The signal then goes to a controller that performs the required function. Check the IR sensor on the front of your TV first. You can confirm operation of your IR remote by pointing it at a camcorder with night-shot and pressing the button.
