What version of Office are you installing?
Method: 1
Unregister and Re-register Windows Installer
Press Windows key + R, in the Run Window type 'msiexec /unregister' without quotes and click on OK.
Press Windows key + R, in the Run Window type 'msiexec /regserver' without quotes and click on OK.
NOTE: There is a single space in between 'msiexec' and '/'.
Method: 2
Verify if an older version of Office is currently installed on the computer.
Browse to the location below and check if you find any edition of Office installed on the computer:
Click on
Start, Control Panel, Program, Program and features
If you find an older version of Microsoft Office listed in Program and Features, you may uninstall the older version of Office from the computer using the article below:

Once the uninstallation is completed you may restart the computer to install Office 2010 and check if Office installs successfully.
