Where can I download Ricoh PS Utility Drivers for my Ricoh Aficio 7200??
I lost PS functionality when I upgraded my Mac from OS 9 to OS 10.8. The old Mac was a PPC based system. I used to be able to choose paper trays input and output, choose CMYK or RGB profiles and so on. When I moved to the new system, I got an error message on the new system declaring that OS X does not support PPC. Now I need new PS Utilities. Where can I download them? Divers that I d/led from the Ricoh site were corrupt and would not install. Any help would be appreciated. I just paid a tech to come look at my system only to have him say he was not that familiar with Macs.

I am pasting this post from the Apple support communities website. There are 60 communications on this topic and I am pasting the one that jumped out at me. It's been my experience more than once over years (25+) that I've been able to get a printer or two to print - when I was told I couldn't. Might be worth a look here - and be sure to note his last sentence here. Good luck:

This helped me....and suddenly it worked !!!!
The way I've done it: delete every Ricoh Printer and related drivers from Ricoh from your machine. Connect to network and open any printable document. Klick "Print" and sroll down the printer list in the print menu window. There I found the Ricoh as available (but not installed). I klicked on it - Max OSX configured the Printer, installed the driver and voila it worked ! On a Ricoh without Postscript Option! I think the real problem was the original PS-driver from Ricoh. The MacOSX generic Ricoh seems to support PCL.
Man, that's an old MFP. I still work on those though. The problem is driver compatibility in the MAC OS. I haven't had to troubleshoot with that OS. Sorry This is what I could find in the Product Service Guide for the 1515MF: Printer Utility for Mac • This software provides several convenient functions for printing from Macintosh clients.
It does state on the Ricoh Technician's Site that the firmware for this printer must be updated and each firmware must be installed one at a time, not as a batch. You would need a small SD card about 256MB is more than enough. The card is placed in slot 2 and the slots are covered by a thin plastic plate on the left side of the printer near the Ethernet port. you need either a philips or a 5.5mm nut driver to remove the one screw holding that plate in place. The printer must be turned off before you take out the one chip in Slot 1. YOU MUST REMOVE ANY CHIPS THAT ARE ALREADY IN SLOTS BEFORE INSTALLING ANY FIRMWARE UPDATE SD CHIPS. YOU MUST MAKE SURE YOU RETURN THOSE CHIPS BACK TO THEIR CORRECT PORT OR YOU CAN CORRUPT THE MAIN BOARD AND THE MACHINE IS KAPUT!!! Sorry, That's important to put in capitals.
Just search for CL7200 under Drivers, and then agree to the site's terms of service. The Print Utility download for the Mac is 319 KB; you can click the link under Download. You can also download the PPD Installer (193 KB) and the PANTONE Color Palette (11,261 KB).
Hi first have you installed the correct Mac drivers the default drivers would be winds and if youj installed from disk this may explain...Go to Ricoh.co.uk and then select the downloads tab and network drivers on the right hand tab. then you will have to select correct machine and OS make sure it is Mac. this will guide you to an external site to down load save to a folder and then install from there. Hope this helps A.
- Go to Ricoh-USA.com - Click Downloads on the blue bar along the top - Click "Download Ricoh Drivers & Software" - Select the AP3800C from the drop-down list under Printers, B&W/Color/Gel and then click Go - Choose your operating system from the list - Download the two files listed under Mac OS X 10.5
Once the files are downloaded, you should be able to install the print driver normally.
this is an older model copier, however try going to www.savin.com and click downloads then drivers. there will be a tab for drivers, this is 10.5 though not snow leopard. Ricoh/Savin/gestetner and Lanier are all the same copier, but savin site has more mac info than Ricoh site. Usually I have better luck using already installed Mac drivers than Gutenprint, if you type in the ip it should give you a list of preinstalled Mac drivers. I believe the Ricoh 1018 corresponds to a Savin 2518 if that helps. Also use print daemon, not ipp. hope this helps somewhat as Macs are difficult with options and such on most printers. also must use PS3 for best results.
Your machine requires the Postscript option installed in order to print from your Mac. The printer is printing gibberish because it cannot understand the postscript driver from the Mac. .
