Please tell me what is causing my LaserJet printer P3005 coming up error 57.0 when is switch on
According to the service manual this is a sub cooling fan error. This fan is on the left side of the printer.
I've seen 57.03 (fan on left rear side) and 57.04 (main fan), but never just 57.0. I'd assume it would be a hardware issue allow since 57.0x are all hardware problems. I saw one person in an HP forum say that it could be a memory card error. The memory is replaceable (use laptop style memory cards), so it isn't a hard fix if that is the problem. 57.0 error was used on old Laserjet III,4,5 and pointed to a memory problem, but I can't find it referenced on new model printers.

SOURCE: HP LaserJet P3005 printer prints wrinkled paper
2 reasons:
1. Was there a paper jam prior to this problem? It could be that the paper was pulled out and a small bit of it is stuck on the pins that guide the paper from the heat roller. If no torn jammed paper prior to this issue, then check out 2.
2. the heater/roller is damaged and needs to be replaced. I would suggest you take it to your nearest HP dealer to properly diagnose this for you. This would save you unnecessary cost in trying to pull it apart and causing more damage to it.
Good Luck,

The P3005 is known to have problems with a chip on the formatter, gives
various errors to include the 49.2d9d, blank display and others. HP has
not issued a recall or service advisory but is fully aware of failure
of the chip on the formatter. Repair for this is to print a
configuration page, replace the formatter board, bring the machine back
up in service mode and put in the correct serial, service code and page
counts into the new formatter's nvram memory.
Liberty Parts Team
at lbrty.com has refurbished formatters at reasonable pricing with no
return core to worry about. The PIN needed to access the service mode is

Other problems with the P3005 are grinding in the
fuser area, correctable by removal of the fuser, replacement of the 4
accessable gears in the side (left as you look into the back) and the
main gear on the fuser then put the fuser back in and should be good.

Hello, the dreaded 49.2F9D Error Turn Power On/Off and other related 49 Errors.
This tip relates to the Hewlett Packard P3005 Series Printer - General reference to most HP Laser Printers
There have been many reports of this error in the HP genre of laser printer. This is a generic fatal error; the root cause is undetermined in most cases. It could be related to an application "corrupt data" or faulty printer firmware, or the formatter board or other associated hardware or accessory. The first step in troubleshooting this error is to isolate the printer from any computer source - disconnect from any I/O ports, Network/USB etc... Power cycle the printer. Does the error still report? If NO then an application may be causing the error, try to isolate the file causing the problem. Clear any pending print jobs. If YES then Firmware/Formatter most are the problem. A new firmware file can be found here. P3005FIRMWARE
