The KAV60 is also the AOD250.
Netbook OFF, monitor OFF, connect an external monitor to the netbook's VGA port.
[You can use a VGA monitor. Looks like a small TV.
This is an example of a VGA port,

Turn the monitor on. Turn the netbook on.
If there is no image shown on the external VGA monitor, press and hold down on the Fn key, and at the same time tap once on the Display Toggle-Over key.
(The F5 key is the Display Toggle-Over key)
No image on external VGA monitor?
Hold the Fn key down once more, and tap again on the F5 key.
Still no?
Problem is internal in netbook. Probably graphics chipset soldered to the motherboard.
Replace motherboard.
Image shows on external monitor?
Problem is with Video Cable or laptop LCD screen.
MOST of the time it's the Video Cable.
The Video Cable connects to the motherboard, in an area under the Keyboard. It then routes up under the left Hinge, and into the Display Panel.
Inside the Display Panel it then connects to the LCD screen.
With frequent opening and closing of the netbook, the Video Cable can be pulled on. This can cause damage to the Video Cable.
(Stretched/broken wires inside the sheath of the cable)
And/or it can cause the connection at the motherboard to be loose, and/or at the LCD screen.
Example of Acer Aspire One video cable,
For ACER Aspire One D250 LCD Screen Cable DC02000SB10 KAV60 New
You can remove the Video Cable, and check it's continuity with a multimeter, or if the cost is reasonable to you simply replace it.
8 to 10 dollar video cable is not the problem? Then problem is the LCD screen itself.
My money is on a loose video cable connection, or damaged video cable.

The best solution is to Download a program Called ''Screen Mode Switch". It's a program that lets you switch between screen resolutions by pressing keyboard combinations. Instead of having to shut down your PC or put to sleep you can save a lot of time by switching the screen resolution back and forth conveniently. It's the best and only software alternative. You can download the program here ->http://www.download32.com/screen-mode-switch-i60507.html
