Sounds like the battery is dead, what does the Battery Charge indicator show, and will it stay on if you remove the charging lead?
A Factory Reset might cure this if the battery is showing fully charged with the power lead removed.
USB hubs typically don't generate the 10 watts necessary to charge an iPad when it's connected to your computer.
This basically means you can't use your laptop to recharge your iPad.
Apple recommends
finding an AC outlet and using 10-watt power adapter that came with your iPad.
1. Connect Kindle to a different USB. 2. Verify the charge light at the base of the Kindle is on. 3. Restart
Kindle by pressing Home > Menu > Settings > Menu and select
"Restart." 4. Leave the unit charging for 30 minutes
If the problem persist, contact Kindle for repair options.
In my experience, the Nook lithium ion batteries are very sensitive to over-charging. If you are still under warranty (1-year manufacturer. Call 800-thebook if you're not sure and they will let you know), replace the device. In the future, do not leave the fully charged device plugged-in while you're using it. The inability to fully or quickly charge the battery is the first step before swelling of the battery like a balloon. I'm not kidding. Fortunately, the B&N customer service is pretty helpful.
Hm. Not sure how much help I'll be, but I'll give it a shot.
- Make sure the device is charged for at least 6 hours if this is its first use. If it isn't, charge it for several hours anyway and try it again. Make sure the charger is plugged all the way into the outlet and all the way into the device (mine sticks out about an eighth of an inch, yours might too).
- Call customer service at 866-204-4714 and describe the issue. I had something a little like this issue (I was stuck at "Literati" screen) and they said to drain the battery and recharge it fully to see if it made any difference, and that if it didn't work they'll be sending along a package to ship it back to them for a replacement. If nothing works, ship it back to them for a replacement.
Try a different charger. If that fails too, you have a logic
board
issue. Amazon should give you a replacement. If you're out warranty, you can get the part at Kindle Repair and there is a guide that shows you how to open a kindle and install parts at Kindle Repair Guide.
