SOURCE: how to RESET counter
Of course, the printer settings can be changed via the standard print options menu in Windows but to reset the counter is done when a new cartridge is installed. But this is how I would proceed... Since the printer and the cartridge are in "cahoots", I'd not give them the chance to communicate. Do this: Place some tape over the electronic contacts on the cartridge. (This prevents the printer and cartridge communicating) Then... Setup another printer icon using the HP Laserjet 4 (MS) printer driver. (This ensures no communication between the installed software and the printer). This should allow you to print some more, but not duplex of course. Remember to shake the cartridge from side to side in order to loosen impacted toner. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's

The waste ink is in the inside of your printer you need to get at it to clean out,
It may be all screwed down so you need to open all up or get a shop to do it for you.
It not an easy job but maybe you are handy with a screwdriver, it can be messy job.
But after this, you will have to reset the waist ink counter or it will still not work,
But but but but you can always try this to reset it first and clean it out again some time.
