My sanyo dp32648 when you turn the power on the screen comes on for 3 to 5 sec and it goes black what do you think can fix this ?

Could be the power supply, it could be the main board. My advice regarding home television repair, unless our Television Expert Larry comes along.

Likely you have a heat related issue in the tuner. The picture cutting out is related to the tuner board over heating and signalling the power board to switch it off. The solution is to get better heat control on your TV. Try using a fan to see of this improves anything, and get a better ventilation to your tuner.

You may need to do a hard reset. Hold the power button for 30 secs and then wait a few secs and turn the system on. Hope it helps.

Power on the unit in the dark room then shine with the flashlight directly in the screen, you will barely see the images. This is because your backlight is not functioning. The following reason is the caused.
1. Power supply - missing B+(supply voltage) coming from this board feeding the inverter board. This is caused by faulty transistor, dried/leaky electrolytic capacitor, open fusible resistor.
2. Inverter board - even the B+ is good from the power supply, if the fuse, driver transistor, driver transformer is faulty no output to the backlight resulting to black picture.
3. Busted backlight - even inverter board is good but if this is busted resulting to black picture also.
Diagnosing the fault is technical and if you don't have necessary tools and test instrument and can't fix it yourself, I would advice you to look for an experienced technician to isolate the problem.

It wont turn on? Well if it is damaged by lightning the only thing damaged would be the varactors on the power supply. They are there to absorb tremendous surge of electricity. The same way a surge protector works. A worse case scenario is the power supply board is fried up. Then being a non electronic technician you can purchase the whole board or order on line and install them yourself. If you brought it to a shop they will charged you for the labor and the board. Don't buy used boards on the internet because a lot of them are no good in my own experience. Get a new one for about a little over a hundred buck or so.

If you do not have any bad capacitors Problem will be the Display Panel

You can have them repaired using a TV Repair guy but often it costs as much as a brand new LCD. My daughter broke my $1,600 LCD. It would have cost $1,200 to fix.. so I just bought a new one.After that I picked up a TV screen protector called TV Armor http://www.tv-armor.com Its designed to protect the TV from damage. Now I dont have to worry anymore when she is playing near it. It works really well.

Your computer may be sending out a video signal that's too high of a resolution for your TV to display. Try reducing the resolution of the computer video signal.

It sounds like you have a power supply problem, this powers the inverter! Where you just replaced the inverter, we could assume it is good! Look for some bad caps (capacitors) on the power supply board. They will look bulged on the top an may be a little leaky (brownish stain). The power supply can fail on some output and be good on others. Was the back light inverter new? If all else fails, see if you can return the back light inverter and get another!
