The micro switches for the hard top latches are bad and not sending a closed signal to the control module. When they stop working the control module doesn't know the top is closed so it doesn't raise the windows. Those micro switches are known to go bad. I have changed quite a few of them before.
your can check is it something stuck in the lock, first operate your roof either way, if you are going to open the roof as a first action boot lid will open to backward, let boot lid fully open and stop operating the roof, ignition off and have a look if something stuck you can see, if you are going to close the roof let close the roof and before close the boot lid stop operating roof switch, otherwise faulty boot lid lock, if faulty lock but you can try by mettle key blade which is in your electronic key, first take out mettle key from electronic key then insert mettle key in to the key hole in boot lid turn fully left and open boot if not work turn fully left and push it in, is this information helped you?
First check that you have oil on the hydraulic pump that it is inside the trunk on the rear right fender the oil should be between the marks. If thats ok check when you put the ignition on if the switch that operates the roof is on, should be off, on means that something is wrong, if blinks 6 times one of the 5 or 7 switchs are not closed, check one by one. check the two that close the trunk at the middle, the cover, the trunk limit switch, the trunk switch
Sounds like maybe some pin switches for interlocks have gone bad. Open your trunk and look for the rubber booted switches and try holding them or shorting them, if you make the top move it shows you which ones are bad.
This symptom almost always points to a lubrication issue. The SLK hardtop is notorious for needing to belubricated every couple of years. Here is a link with directions andphotos:
you will have to remove the seats in the back or go through the trunk on 2 seaters to access the motor to disconnect it. if you try to force it manually you will more than likely cause more damage............please rate
