Put your cellphone to camera mode, place the remote control [ replace its batteries with new ones]; at about one feet away from the camera lens, and press each button on the remote control. If infrared emission is there, you can see its image on the cellphome camera screen. If there is infrared emission for all button press of remote control; the infrared sensor inside your TV is faulty. It should be replaced with same type and number. If there is no infrared images, the remote control is not working, and should be replaced. Check the battery contacts of the remote battery compartment for any rust or dirt. Clean it well before replacing new batteries into it. OK.
