My "Whirlpool Gold" Refrigerator's interior water dispenser was dripping pretty badly. I just replaced the inlet valve and the drip is MUCH slower but it's still there (1 drip every ~10 minutes). Wha
I own a Whirlpool Gold Fridge with an interior water dispenser (model - gb2shtxts02, looks a lot like this... http://www.whirlpool.com/-%5BGB2FHDXWS%5D-1001305/GB2FHDXWS/). I have had it for about ~5 years now with no problems.
The water dispenser started to drip pretty badly (resulting in water leaking down the sides and onto the floor), so I removed the water filter (short circuiting the water flow) and ordered a new inlet valve

I just replaced the inlet valve and the drip is considerably slower but not gone. During the replacement, I evaluated the tubing and nothing appeared damaged or blocked but I did notice that the slightly transparent, internal tube running into the port with the 3/16 solenoids didn't want to fully drain...not sure if that means anything!?
I am no repair guy so, anyone have some ideas about what else could be causing this very slow drip? Because I did not have this problem previously I feel water pressure cannot be the culprit so is it likely that the actual dispenser is not able to fully seal itself when not triggered? If so, does anyone have some tricks I can try in efforts to resolve the issue without replacing the dispenser? If there are other possibilities, any insight as to where I need to look next will be appreciated.
Thanks for your time,
Ryan.
Re: My "Whirlpool Gold" Refrigerator's interior water...
Perhaps some air bubbles were trapped in the water line during the repair. Try running water thru the line for a good amount of time and that may help to relieve the line of any air bubbles.

Water valves leak like a leaking faucet sometimes. They just will not close all the way allowing water to bypass the valve and either drip at dispenser or drip and make a mess in freezer. Your model takes a=> 2219592 Water Valve - Dual Outlet
Change the dual water control valve and I believe this will solve this problem, Thanks Sea Breeze
Is the freezer cold enough? Should be close to 10 degrees. Is there water or ice in the ice mold? If not put water in it and see if it dumps the ice after it's frozen. If there is ice, lift the cut off arm and let it drop to see if it will start. If it does dump the ice but don't refill with water. ICE MAKER NOT GETTING WATER Try swapping the wires on the dual water inlet valve. It's on the back where the water supply comes in. Then try the water dispenser. The water should go to the ice maker. This will tell you weather or not the ice maker valve is working and if the line is clear.
The water inlet valve on the back of unit opens when the ice maker needs water. If the valve doesn't seal good because of sediment or wear it will continue to drip and when the water reaches the ice maker supply tube it will freeze blocking the fill tube.. You can take the water line off the valve and watch to see if it drips.
A strainer before the inlet valve can also get stopped up restricting flow.

Probably replace the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in. Disconnect the water line to the dispenser there and see if it keeps dripping when you try the dispenser.
It should be on the right hand side in the back take off the compressor cover on the back should be 8 or so 1/4 screws nutdriver type and then two more hold on the water valve. If you have a RO system hooked up to refrig you may need to change the filters on the ro or just change the filter on the refrig. those two will also cause the water to drip thru the valve allowing it to drip on the front
