Finally fixed mine. I had being trying all of the posted fixes for this to no avail. But on Chris's website link there was a comment to unplug the battery, plug in the charger and while it is plugged in, reconnect the battery. After 3 months of black screen we are charging. Finally. Be careful how you hold the unit while the back off it is still a circuit board and susceptible to static...so to chris, the other guy and everyone who got us this far, thanks.

Is the charger working? Have you tried plugging it into a PC?

Try this
Plug in the charger.
Hold down the "power on button" and the volume up button at the same time for approx 10 seconds
Give it a couple of tries to wake it up.

Tablets generally do not have a CMOS battery and as such they use the main battery to power the device and keep CMOS settings. Most Android device do not like to be stored with a battery of lower than 14% or 7% depending on device. One this has be reached or passed it can be difficult to restart a device. From past experience Samsung Tab 3 and lower are one of worst culprits. The way to fix this issue from past experience is to remove rear cover and unplug battery for and hour or so. Then reconnect the battery and plug in the original or equivalent 2 amp USB charger. The tablet will think you have installed a new battery. You will loose all date, time, geographic location settings. You should NOT loose any apps or account settings. This has an 80-90% success rate. Try not to let the battery drop below 7% and if storing or not using for a while, I Suggest fully charging it before putting in storage.

Hi
A general tip is that batteries much prefer a charge - discharge cycle, rather than just being left. They last much longer that way.
However that's by the by. Firstly, will the Tab 3 operate whilst plugged into the charger? If it does then this is a clear indication that the battery or the charger is at fault and a replacement may cure your problem.
Secondly, is the charger supplying a voltage to charge the battery, if it isn't then it is faulty. If it is then either the battery, or the connections within the Tab 3 are faulty.
However, these are all relatively hypothetical, as after only 6 months it will still be under warranty and I would suggest that you take the Tab back to the vendor and request a replacement, as it cannot be regarded as of "Merchantable Quality". Alternatively contact Samsung, also under warranty.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

Samsung Galaxy tab3: Display time and date wrong.. system time and date ok.

When clocks went forward for British Summertime I noticed that although tablet system time was correct the weather app display on home screen stayed 1 hour behind.

The fix it to enable 'location' (GPS) then click sync circle..then all was fine..after that could turn of location and stil kept correct time.

My Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 will not turn on. Is there a way to reset it?

Press the power button and the "up" volume to initiate a soft reset. If it turns on and you get access to your operating system then enter the setting a do a hard reset to re-install to the factory settings. If any of these don't work then it might be time to use the warranty and have it fixed.

Tablet is less than a month old and has significant battery charge, and in the middle of playing an everyday app game the tablet went into a white noise picture. I shut it off by holding the power button...

hold down power and volume up and down at the same time for 10 seconds and then release. should reboot. if not then there is something wrong with the board or a software glitch.

When I try to charge my samsung galaxy tablet a yellow triangle pops up on the battery sign

I had this same thing. The Batter image had a red line on the right side and the yellow triangle had an explanation point in the middle.

I searched the net and found a few solutions.

1. Hold the power button down for 30 seconds.

2. Hold the power button down and the volume down button at the same time for 30 seconds.

3. Just let it charge and over night and it should go back to normal.

I did all 3, in the order I wrote them. While in step 3, after about 5 minutes I pressed the power button and it showed that it was charging normal.

Hope this helps.
