I DON'T THINK YOU CAN RUN 2 ROUTERS ON THE SAME NETWORK UNLESS ONE IS USED AS AN ACCESS POINT.

Instead of adding a second wired router to an existing network, consider adding a network switch instead. A switch accomplishes the same goal of extending the size of a network, but it does not require any IP address or DHCP configuration, greatly simplifying configuration.

first connect the xbox to the network and get the ip address (like 192.168.x.x) and then use the computer and login to router setup page and under firewall open these ports for the ip address of xbox . If the IP address of E1000 router is 192.168.1.1, Then change the IP address of WRT54G router to 192.168.1.2. Connect the Ethernet cable from the Ethernet port of E1000 router to the Ethernet port of WRT54G router ( port 1 of E1000 to port 1 of WRT54g). Disable the DHCP server.

You can do it in a different way also.
If the IP address of E1000 is 192.168.1.1. then change the IP address of the WRT54g to 192.168.2.1. Do not disable the DHCP server of the WRT54G. Connect the E1000 to the Internet port of WRT54G.

You can't just connect up a new router to some ISP's (internet service provider) and expect it to work. My ISP requires the MAC address of the router before it can access the internet. Call your ISP and tell them what your doing. The MAC address is the physical hardware address of your router (there is no other one the same in the world). The MAC address is on a sticker on the router and consist of 12 numbers and letters.

The time span for the assigned IP address are controlled by the router in the DHCP configuration, which can be set to your satisfaction, by accessing the router configuration page, by entering http://192.168.0.1 in the internet explorer address window. Be sure to use the IP Address assigned to the router.. Also you can release an IP of a computer by opening the MS/DOS command window by clicking Start/Run and typing in CMD and then enter at the courser ipconfig /release this will release the ip. then type ipconfig /renew this will reset the ip of the computer.
