How do I change the expiry date of the credit or debit card in my PayPal account?
Here's how to change the expiry date of your credit or debit card:

1. Go to your Wallet.
2. Choose the card you'd like to update.
3. Click Update card.

Go into paypal login and add a newer credit card with a future date as expiry date and then make it the default card paypal uses .
Pay pal might be taking the money directly out of your account and hence it has not expired. Also check how much you owe on the card you might be at the credit limit or daily spending limit

You should contact the bank that you have your checking account/debit card with. They can tell you if the charges were actually posted on your debit card.
