My first tablet I got would go to the UEFI shell directly because its SSD failed ... look for another comparable tablet or give it a couple of months until the new ... this is the main misstake all they do... we mustn`t move it when charging.... looks like dc jack has broken and needs repair.

If your talking about the little teeth looking piece of metal, then your talking about the charging pin. If this is not right looking or doesn't appear like it used to then it probably won't charge. The tablet will have to be opened up and a new charging pin soldered into place. I recommend a professional or someone who knows exactly what they're doing as this is not an easy task.

The correct procedure to charge the battery is to plug in the device in when it is powered off, and then do *nothing* - just let it do it's thing: It will power on by itself and then eventually go into sleep mode and keeps charging. Just let it be.

You may wish to switch off wifi while charging as it is the second biggest drain on the battery (the screen is the biggest!), and having wifi on may suck some of the power away from the battery charge and into the wifi hardware also try getting a charger just like original, sometimes during transport from warehouse to store where u purchased your tablet things get knocked around and or damaged, but the store is not aware until u bring it to their attention

First, look very closely at the charging port, for damage, dirt, dead spiders, missing pieces, etc. If clean and straight, move on to debugging the cable and/or charger. Cheap debugging means borrowing a known good cable and charger from a friend. Not from a stranger. That tends to involve the police and mugshots, and can ruin political aspirations. Replace one thing at a time (cable first), and pay careful attention to getting a good connection. Try every combination, and be patient. If it is the cable, seriously consider getting a higher quality cable. Cheap cables are a huge problem, and can contribute to damaged charging ports. Good luck!

My ASUS Windows 8RT tablet is what I am basing this on, but it does the same thing. It's actually pretty common for the device to remain ON (standby) while charging. If you look at the battery icon, does it show anything different than usual?

i can suggest you get a Duracell wireless charger which you just place your tablet on and it charges?

The owner's manual that came with it should have the answer to your question.
