Baird tv has no picture but sound ok. picture lights up when turning on and off but then goes out.y

Hi Anon,
If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
If your TV, flatscreen, or monitor is more than 5 years old it is more like to have suffered a component failure.
Take it to a repair shop.

Jvc hd-52g886 wont turn on

Hi!
That's a clear indication that you have a bad power supply in your TV.
If you know how to DiY...I suggest you open your TV. Locate the power supply section, it is where the end of the power plug is connected. Replace all blown or bulge or leaked capacitors with same value. That will fix your TV problem.
The hardest part is to disassembling your TV cover, cause you will need to pry off the snap in lock at the edge of your TV.

Power supply board should look like this. Examine the capacitors in the board

After replacing blown capacitors...it should work again.
caps%281%29%281%29.jpg

Things you will need.
1. A plastic flat end screw or any object with flat ends....to fry off the cover
2. Soldering iron.
3. Soldering lead
4. Soldering pump.
5. Flat and Philip Screw
6. Replacement capacitors (of same value with the blown one) that you can buy to any electronics store.

Hope it helps

I have an Element Brand Model FLX3210 television with no picture or sound. The television when plugged in has the red indicator light on, but when you power up the television the red indicator turns from...

The cause of that problem is a faulty power supply. There's a leak capacitor in the power supply that's why the output voltage of the power supply shut off. There are 4 regulated output voltage of the power supply, the stand by 5vdc,the switched 5vdc,the 12-16vdc and 24vdc.So if any supply output of the following output have gone, there's a problem in the operation of the TV.The leak capacitor can identify throug visual checking if do not know how to use tester to test the deffective parts. The leak capacitor have bulging tops,so if you can see the power supply located at the upper right side you can see the bulging tops of thecapacitor.Replace with the same value of capacitor.

No sound, no picture

If by catscan sound you mean a high pitched whine? That usually indicates that the power section has had a part fail. The capacitors on the main board will cause this. You can take it to the shop but get an estimate first as the repair cost can be close to replacement as the prices keep falling. The repair parts are pretty cheap but the labour isn't.
