These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. Make sure you're using both data and power USB cables

goto your control panel and look for your speaker icon,click in there and see if anything is turnd off.

Possible that PC is hanging up as there is fault on the OS ( operating system) or a virus in the OS. Also it is possible that the back up battery ( CMOS) has low voltage or the memory card is a suspect. In this case you need to check the voltage and also try and swap a memory card. Sometimes the memory card connections can be faulty either on the card or on the slot. Cleaning the slot and card must be done before you try a replacement. If the Pc boots and fails then the hard disc can have bad sectors or is corrupt. However if there is no result the motherboard also can be suspected. In this case you might need the help of proper tools and equipment support to do a chip level service.

When working with VGA which i assume you are using, you must have an audio input, You can either go Mini to mini if your TV takes the mini plug or Mini to dual, which is one end mini, which goes into your headphone port on the laptop and the other end audio RCA jacks witch simply connects to your RCA audio inputs on your TV, (RED and White) Alternatively if your computer and your TV have HMDI ports, then you can cover sound and audio in one cable.

I had the exact same problem with my Windows XP when trying to interface with my new Samsung YP-Q1 16GB. Hey, it took a bit of Forum searching but it can be done.

Load your Emodio software from the supplied CD.
Download Windows Media Player 10 or above (important)
Plug in your MP3 Player to USB port (hopefully your USB ports are USB2.0 otherwise you'll need to see if you can upgrade their drivers to make them USB2)
If, as with mine, its still not appearing as a portable device in Windows Media Player or EMODIO
then

Go to Control Panel. (I prefer Classic view where you can immediately see Add Hardware Wizard)
Run Add Hardware Wizard. searches for new Hardware. Prompts for is Hardware connected?)
Look at list of devices Q1 should appear as yellow Q1?
Highlight Q1 and continue.
Prompted for dowload of MTP file.
Install file.

Worked for me anyway although Emodio software still had problems writing to Q1, Windows Media Player had no such problem.

So you have a mac with a mini-dvi slot, you have a mini-dvi to dvi adapter, and then Dvi to vga adapter which connects to the tv?

The mini-dvi to dvi adapter doesn't have the analog VGA signal your tv needs. If I understood right.
