Pioneer SD-P62A3 62" shuts off - won't stay on

We got this TV second hand and were enjoying it - until - it started shutting off by itself. At first it would shut off, we would turn it back on and it would be fine (did this maybe once or twice in a 6 hour period). Then, it started happening frequently. Now, as soon as you turn it on - it might stay on for 10 minutes, but it will shut itself off. Frustrating.

My TV shuts itself down by itself

Poer supply is the cause of the shutdown and would need to be replaced. These cost around $150 bucks just in parts the labor you would need to find someone that knows just what there doing or you could wind up into the hundreds, Thanks

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.

TV shuts off seconds after being turned on

This is actually a common problem with this unit and one that Pioneer is aware of... Over time the feed resistors in the convergence circuit change in value and the convergence ICs begin to fail, placing more of a load on the power supply than necessary and stressing components in the SMPS. The fix; Pioneer recommends upgrading the convergence IC's from STK392-110 to STK392-180, change all resistors in the convergence circuit that have changed in value and replace the power supply to repair the unit.

T.V powers off

if that is a short for sure it will shut off permanently. probably a loose connection(cold solder). have it inspect physically and resolder if possible. good luck!
